Adamawa state police command has expressed readiness to establish an outpost in Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, MAUTH Yola, Adamawa state.
This is in response to the request made by the management of MAUTH during the courtesy call on the commissioner of police Dankombo Morris that a security outpost be established in the hospital
The visit to the force headquarters was for the purpose of introducing the newly appointed Chief Medical Director, CMD, of the hospital, Prof Adamu Bakari Girei and to express appreciation for the support and cooperation in providing enabling security environment for the healthcare delivery service to thrive in the state.
Incidentally, CP Dankombo was appointed in February, the same month Prof Bakari was appointed as CMD therefore they both congratulated each other.
CP Dankombo left Adamawa as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of administration while until his new appointment, Prof Bakari was the Provost College of Medica Science, Modibbo Adama University, MAU, Yola.
Dankombo commended MAUTH for the priority enjoyed by the police who visited the hospital, which was in record, where he observed that “police and hospital staff are partners, they work 24 hours in service to humanity, yet they are the most accused, insulted by the members of the public, for following protocols.
“While attending to a patient in the hospital or listening to the aggrieved at the police station, there must be some kind of investigations, which the complainant or client will feel there’s delay in the protocol”.
According to Dankombo, “the request for police outpost is a welcome development. What you just need do is to provide office facility, within or around the hospital where suitable”.
The new sheriff thanked MAUTH management for the visit, where he expressed excitement that both himself and the CMD were appointed and assumed duty in the same month of February, 2024.
The meeting assured continued synergy where the CP said the visit would be reciprocated.
