Police have apprehended cattle rustlers doubling as armed robbers, operating in Numan and Lamurde local government areas of Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria.
The press release Tuesday, issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje revealed that “The Adamawa State Police Command, in collaboration with Critical Stakeholders in policing, has made significant achievement in combating the illegal activity against Animals in the state.
“On 3th April, 2024, the combined efforts of police and critical stakeholders led to the arrest of 4 individuals for the offences of Criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery amongst others, namely, Solomon Musa 26 years, Auwalu Gambo 22 years, Nuhu Dauda 53 years and Gbamon Wonawo 21 years, residents of Sabon Pegi, Ngbalang and Tigno Kogi of Numan and Lamurde Local Government Areas.
“The suspects separately attacked, killed and rustled the cattle of Alhaji Abdu Bakari, Bello Alhaji Sale amongst others with the intention of causing wrongful loss to the owners and wrongful gain to themselves.
“Following thorough investigations so far conducted, the suspects volunteered useful information that would aid diligent prosecution.
“The Commissioner of Police Adamawa State Police Command, CP Dankombo Morris Falling Psc (+), while commending the effort and dedication demonstrated by the traditional institutions for ensuring law takes its course leading to the arrest of these suspects, urged members of the public, particularly those in Numan, Lamurde and Demsa to remain vigilant and continue partnering with Police and other Law enforcement agencies to rid our communities of criminal elements”.
