Adamawa APC statewide Guber Campaign Flag-Off Campaign For Central Zone Faces Drawback In Song
When things fall apart, it could be no longer at ease for the the centre to hold, hence the flag-off of the APC statewide gubernatorial campaign in Adamawa central, which took place in Song local government Friday, faced friction, commotion and violence.
The Newshawk’s Babankadi reported that the event was midway hijacked by restive youths who were opposed to the candidature of Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin who is the current legislature representing Song/Fufore Federal Constituency.
Some of the party chieftains at the event which took place at Atiku primary school, Song Friday evening include the Speaker Adamawa state house of Assembly, Kabiru Mijinyawa, Commissioner of local government affairs, Mustapha Muhammadu Barkindo, Principal Personal Assistant to the Governor, Abdullahi Bakari and the SSG, Umar Bindir.
According to our source, the youths who were apparently not happy with the lawmaker started signing his Anti slogans when he was called to address the rally which culminated into an attempt to attack the legislature.
Sensing danger, the lawmaker allegedly dashed out of the venue through the women pavilion and was rushed into a waiting Toyota starlet car and whisked away leaving his driver and other associates behind.
On realising that the lawmaker was whisked away, the angry youths descended on his Personal Assistant who was beaten to pulp and rescued by some good Samaritans and immediately rushed to an undisclosed location in a tricycle commonly known as Keke-Napep.
The melee allegedly caused massive pandemonium making all the party chieftains to scamper into different directions to escape the uproar.
In the process some of them allegedly took refuge in the women pavilion to escape the possibilities of transfer of aggression, while others were allegedly smuggled out of the venue.
Our source noted that many chieftains and candidates of the party could not make it to the rally for undisclosed reasons.
