The Commissioner of Police Adamawa State Command, Audu Madaki Tuesday, directed DPOs, Operational Commanders and their Supervising Area Commanders, to ensure total compliance to the lockdown oder.
In a press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahya Nguroje, the CP’s directive was sequel to the Adamawa State Government’s lockdown order with a view to ameliorate the spread of Coronavirus.
“Against the backdrop of the Covid-19 global health threat and the subsequent Lockdown orders imposed by government at all levels, to enable its containment, the Commissioner of Police, Audu A Madaki, while enjoining citizens to voluntarily adhere to the lockdown orders, has directed the DPO, Operational Commanders and their Supervising Area Commanders to ensure that all legitimate orders given in pursuant to the containment efforts by the Government are strictly enforced within their areas of jurisdiction.
“The CP while urging officers to observe personal safety measures, further directs the Area commanders and DPOs to ensure interstate travel restrictions and international borders with Cameroon remain closed.
“The CP further directs all tricycles,Taxis and Bus operators within the state to remain restricted. Only ambulances, Fire fighters and security vehicles, filling stations and Banks (skeletal services) are allowed.
“The CP enjoins citizens to avoid social activities such as clubbing, Joints, Beer parlours , Social gatherings and markets, except for those selling food items and water vendors.
“Furthermore, in compliance with the Government’s directives in the state, the CP has ordered the immidiate deployment of the task force team to ensure compliance and enforcement.
“Meanwhile, this order exempted some essential service personnel, such as Medical officers, Firefighters, journalists on official duties and PHCN officials
“While urging people to remain at Home reiterate it’s commitment to protecting of lives and properties,” the press release read.
