The Adamawa state government has declared the councillor representing Vulpi Ward of Numan local government area, Makana Enan Ngari wanted on allegations of cattle rustling.
In a press release Wednesday, issued by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, “the councillor is suspected of involvement in illegal deals and cattle rustling, which is a violation of his oath of office.”
Makana’s action was coming at a time the Adamawa state government has worked assiduously in restoring peace between farmers and herdsmen hitherto living in mutual suspicion and antagonism, “after incessant attacks, on villages along the borders of Adamawa and Taraba states, warning that government will not hesitate to deal with anyone found wanting, no matter his position.”
In that respect the government has appealed to the aggrieved not to take the law into their hands as “government is doing everything possible to ensure that peace prevails between farmers and herdsmen and law abiding citizens.
“Furthermore, a responsible government will not sit back and watch criminals destroy the hard earned peace she has been able to achieve and appealed to residents of the state to help the government towards building a just and egalitarian society where peace and tranquility exists
