Adamawa State police command has paraded 40 suspects alleged to have committed various crimes including cattle rustling, kidnapping and culpable homicide across the state.
Parading the suspects at the state police command in Yola on Monday, the commissioner of police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji said the police, in collaboration with local hunters achieved the feat in coordinated operations across the state.
According to the commissioner of police, items recovered include; 8 AK 47 rifles, one locally made pistol, one Sharon bus and the sum of N1.130 million.
“The command’s anti-kidnapping unit and other tactical units in compliance with my directives in my maiden address, collaborated with professional hunters, being our critical stakeholders in our policing strategy, were deployed to Chigari, Yadim, Wuro-Bokki, Sigire, Nassarawo Jereng villages of Fufore, Mayo-Belwa, Song, Mubi LGAs.
”On the strength of that, 40 suspects in connection to kidnapping activities, cattle rustling and culpable homicide were apprehended from across the state, while eight AK 47 rifles, one locally made pistol, one Sharon vehicle, cash of N1.130 million were recovered,” the CP said.
The command appreciated members of the general public and further assured them that the suspects would be diligently prosecuted on completion of investigation.

Having commended Adamawa state police command, in collaboration with other security agencies, vigilantes and hunters for the security breakthrough, Adamawa Coalition Against Rape ACAR Monday, urged the Commissioner of Police to extend the name and shame to the rapists by parading the predators to the public, using to the press.
“Even if it means one paedophile or rapist arrested, the predators should be paraded to the public using the press. So doing will strengthen the confidence the public has in the police for the war against rape”, Hajiya Asmau Joda the convener, reiterated on behalf of the ACAR group.
