Following the allegation contained in an online publication with the caption; “Police Officer gives violence threats to a buyer of property Near His Adamawa House…..”. in which the life of one Vincent Umeh ‘M’, was reported to have been threatened by a senior police officer, the Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmed Barde has directed for full investigation into allegation
The press release Friday, issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje revealed that the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa state “has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Criminal Investigation Department to investigate and ascertain the veracity of the allegations for further necessary action.
“He assures the good people of Adamawa state of sustained effort by the police in protecting lives and property and to ensuring justice is for all”
Earlier, the boss who said that police is everybody’s friend and security is everybody’s business has urged the media practitioners to be guided by the ethics of the profession with a view to have a balanced, objective report, especially of sensitive issues, from both angles before feeding the populace.
“The Police Boss urged members of the public to remain calm and always report any misconduct by person(s), including those in uniform, to the nearest police station,” the report read.
