They advised we Should talk to CAN Chairman to intervene. We’ve already committed our plea for justice to Allah SWT, we told them – Concerned Youth
* We thank Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki, aka Otumba of Ekiti for the concern against injustice, for the assurance to right the long endured wrong. May Allah SWT grant him the best of his intentions – Elders
Today enters day two of the blessed month of Ramadhan. The month with the night of power, of acceptable prayers and the month the noble Qur’an was revealed, marking the beginning of the end of all revealed religions, with the mercy unto mankind, Muhammad, SAW, as the seal of all Prophets and Prophethood.
It is 8 years after the demise of the District Head, four years with the High Court judgement and over 18 months with the determination of the Appeal Court, which upheld the High Court judgement, Jalingo-Maiha district head palace remains vacant due to undue executive delay in approving the appointment of the District Head.
More worrisome is the approval of the appointment of the District Head of Pakka; less than a year after death; less than a quarter of the year after the Emirate Council’s selection and submission to the state governor for approval of appointment.
What Sentiment! The youth would exclaim and more worried when they were advised to organise some elders to solicit for the intervention of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Chairman Adamawa state to talk to the governor, since all solicitations and interventions failed.
Seek the intervention of the state Chairman of the Muslims Council or CAN? How unimaginable! The youth would conceive.
The explanation was given that the governor listens to the CAN chairman more than any other candidate in the state.
“Well, we’ve already committed our plea for justice to Allah SWT,” the concerned youth would respond.
Elders in Jalingo-Maiha also thanked Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki, aka Otumba of Ekiti, the gubernatorial aspirant, for the show of concern against apparent injustice, for the assurance to right the long endured wrong, the moment Allah SWT made him a governor.
“May Allah SWT grant Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki, the Otumba of Ekiti, who is equally of the noble birth, the ease and success in his endeavours and bless the best of his intentions”.
The previous media reports revealed that accoding to Otumba, “a hot governorship contender who has been tough on what he considered as Adamawa state governor’s chronic ineptitude and excesses, “there’s everything sentiment influencing the continued refusal to approve the appointment of district head of Jalingo-Maiha.
“However, I assure you, the delay will not go beyond 2023, In Sha Allah, when I’ll clear clueleness, defeat sentiment, honour courts orders.
“Put it on record that the appointment of the district head of Jalingo-Maiha shall be backdated to the period the Emirate Council forwarded the selected name for executive approval about four years ago, with all the entitlements and compensation for damages.”
Otumba has indeed set an acceptable standard, the youth would say. Have the appointment of the District Head of Jalingo-Maiha backdated to the time the Emirate Council submitted the name of the selected qualified candidate to the governor for approval, with proper compensation of damages resulting from the undue executive delay.
According to the youth, today is the second day of another session of Qunut prayers in the blessed month of Ramadhan, against any sentiment causing the undue executive delay in the approval of the appointment of the District Head of Jalingo-Maiha.
The concerned youth who hitherto intended to take their grievances to the governor at Dougirei Hill, urged the people of Maiha and sympathisers beyond, not to relent in joining the Qunut prayers against injustice, either in congregation or individually.
