Most of the Mosques visited have had short Qutba and recited short verses during the prayers this Friday considering the scorching sun being experienced this blessed month of Ramadhan
One Imam took to the metaphor, drawing scary attention to what would happen in the next world to the deviants of the faith, more excruciating, beyond the scorching sun that appears to be discomforting in the blessed month of Ramadhan.
“Hell fire is real. Ummah must return to reality. There should be societal reorientation. Corrupt politicians and public servant, clueless and hard hearted leaders, terrorists, ritualists cocooned in religious regalia and other deviants are all products of the disgusting societal decay, a chain seemed to be consuming all.
“You are impressed by the flamboyant life of one whose source of wealth could not be ascertained. You’re impressed by the corrupt public servants and thieving elected politicians. Instead of frowning at them, you are praising them at gatherings and as cleric, blessed them with prayers for a miserable amount you are lowly estimated, ignoring how public treasury is milked leaned by the very custodians you laboured to elect, the appointed or the employed.
“You conspire in silence, shielding criminals whose activities will eventually reduce you to casualties.
“Ummah as an entity must give this hypocrisy a rethink and return to reality in worship with piety and taqwa,” the Qutba admonished.
Other Mosques raised the issue of suspended Imam in Abuja whose Qutba the Friday before was tough on insecurity; challenging the government to wake up to her responsibility lest the country is reduced to republic of terrorists, failure of which will be challenged by collective refusal to go to polls and exercise franchise that could result in mortgaging not only conscience but lives.
Some Qutba called for diplomacy by both parties while urging the government to stand firmly to her security responsibility for peaceful coexistence, continued progress and development.
The wealthy are called upon to serve as shield to the less privileged as much as the marketers are urged, in the spirit of Ramadhan, to bring down the prices of food commodities.
The Qutba enjoined the Ummah to join in collective Qunut prayers against insurgency and perceived complicity.
