The management of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, UMTH, Borno state has reviewed upward, the hospital’s bed fees for the open wards.
The circular signed by the acting director of administration of the hospital, Mrs Amina M Bello and made available to the Periscope Global explained that the upward review of the bed fees was due to the increase in the running cost.
“This is to inform staff and the general public that the Hospital Board of Management has approved the upward review of the Hospital bed fee due to increase in running cost. The new fees for the open wards are that adults would pay N2,000 while children would pay N1,000 per day respectively,” the statement reads.
Recall that I an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the CMD of the UMTH, Prof Ahmed Ahidjo lamented that the hospital spent between N40 to N67 million on diesel alone.
