It appears that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party and the party itself is cashing on the Muslim-Muslim ticket hate propaganda to solicit support of the Christians from the pulpit
The Minority-Majority ticket decided by the APC to be able to win election, considered by the chronic antagonists as Muslim-Muslim ticket aimed at shortchanging the non Muslims, is taken as opportunity to generate support for the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, of the Christians from the pulpit as the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God could be said to have redeemed mandate on Friday.
Peter Obi, who was at the church for the first time, was captured sitting quietly with a smile as he attended the 70th annual convention of the church.
Welcoming Obi to the convention, the announcer said, “We welcome to the Redemption Camp for the first time Mr. Peter Obi.”
Others welcomed and introduced are the Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries and President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Wale Oke; the National Superintendent of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria and National Treasurer of the PFN, Reverend Sam Aboyeji; the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel; and the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, who is represented by his wife.
The Labour Party’s presidential candidate is accused of visiting only some of the states controlled by PDP and for the most part, attending churches’ programmes with a view to canvas for mandate.
The political pundits have pointed out that it would be difficult for Obi to penetrate the PDP’s stronghold states for having a stronger person to be more obedient to than the LP’s presidential candidate.
“Dr Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri Adamawa, the unifierer, proves to be detribalised and generally accepted than Peter Obi. It is unlikely that Obi will reclaim the PDP’s stronghold states.
“It’s also defining defeat on the side of a candidate who takes a campaign to a particular worship place”.
