May I know the indices, the parameters that The Best Strategist (TBS) in collaboration with the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) used to distinguish my Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the nomination of STATE INFRASTRUCTURAL DELIVERY AWARD?
Well, I do know TBS as an award-given firm to any individuals or government agencies willing to pay the price.
My view of all this is that Governor Ahmadu has spent enough time in office for the people to announce him as their best Governor in infrastructures or whatever strata of the government.
The award is needless as far as I’m concerned, TBS has come late on this to probably have their interest(s) prevail that is hidden somewhere else unknown to us.
Whatever indices they must have used for this “distinguished award” the infrastructure in Kano, Kaduna, Borno and other states I have known are far better than the ones I know in Adamawa.
- For me the people from the remotest part of Adamawa should yell out, shouts of joy that my Governor has done well in infrastructure not TBS.
- The 10,000 sacked workers should take to the streets of Yola that my Governor has re-absorbed them.
- Our hospitals are just in a state of comatose, with no drugs to administer well on a common malaria attack. A visit to our State Specialists Hospital in Yola and other General Hospitals in the state will give you a disgusting shocking disbelieving treatment, the kind one experiences while fiddling with an electric fitment.
- Go to our schools, they are more of depleted standing structures that need a chemotherapist to give strength to the weak structures desiring government attention. A visit to one of the schools is enough for a cardiac arrest. I saw teachers and pupils go to schools with the chairs/Desks, they themselves have purchased. Some who couldn’t afford the chairs sit on the mats, some of the other indigent pupils who couldn’t get the mat sit on bare floors – some floors are mere sand not cement – for their lessons to be taken, while many other pupils in so many communities across the state receive lessons under tree shades. Whenever there is rainfall it’s a school free day; It’s that ugly, when we’re told that the state government runs a free primary and secondary education.
Government proteges have since defended the honor, using it as campaign propaganda to sway votes from the electorates. Well it’s a justification of the pay slip, I understand because I was once there.
In a couple of months, this award will be decided by the Adamawa electorates, TBS will not be there or the SGF office to canvas votes in defence of the award. Sure the people will certainly decide.
All I know my Governor should buckle up, history has it that Adamawa is a litmus test state when it comes to the issues of governance, it’s a state synonymous with a politically catastrophic nature, a state that can make nothing be anything for political changes and decision taken in the interest of few elites individuals.
I know this state very well when it comes to who will be the next sacrificial lamb. HE Boni is alive to give the testimony, and HE Murtala Nyako, a retired General from the Navy is still alive with vigor to tell us how far it went. My Boss and the immediate past Governor, Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow is also alive to tell Nigerians that Adamawa is another microcosm of Nigeria that the mighty will also fall and the rich will also cry.
My Governor Sir, wake up, a tornado wind of change is blowing. Don’t be at ease in Zion. The award should not be the decided magic wand for you in 2023. Go back to the basis and engage your lieutenants properly. The odds are too numerous to your disadvantage.
It is in peace I come.
