…To Establish new VTCs! Why not revive the Nyako established skills acquisition training centres – Economist…
Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Friday signed N175 billion 2023, tagged “budget of consolidation” into law, following the passage of the appropriation bill by the State House of Assembly.
Fintiri, earlier on Friday, November 25, 2022, presented the appropriation bill for the 2023 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
<> Recurrent Expenditure: N10b – Representing 60%
<> Capital Expenditure: N70b Representing 40%
According to Fintiri, the budget would ensure:
- Completion of ongoing projects.
- Construction of a superhighway from FGGC Yola to Yola-Town through Yolde-Pate.
- Establishment of three mega secondary schools; one in each of the senatorial districts of the state, to serve as special schools for the most talented students.
- Establishment of High-tech Vocational Training Centers to serve as Information Technology Skill Incubation Hub.
- Etc…
The economist Shehu Usman, while reviewing the budget of consolidation, opined that “instead of establishing new vocational training centers, the ones earlier established by former governor Nyako should be revived and improved, in the spirit of good governance in continuity”.
