…The opposition candidates said they would bring progress. Which progress would they bring while we have flyovers all over? – Sec Gen PDP Campaign Council
…Allah Sene, we have a pact for good governance with you; our continued and unflinching support for your governance will be based on you bringing back the suspended skills acquisition programmes and the social welfare scheme that Baba Maimangoro initiated, no more no less. The failure of which we’ll be left with no option than to withdraw our support – Sen Nyako to Sen Bindow during the 2015 electioneering atmosphere
…Fintiri has during the 2019 governorship campaign, lambasted and lampooned Bindow led government, the failure he said, necessitated his calling to takeover and ferry the state to the defined destination, how comes that Fintiri is now full praises for Bindow burying the failure? – Political Pundit
Former governor of Adamawa state, Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow has finally confirmed the insinuation that he would leave APC, the party that supported him and that which he failed to comply with its manifesto to have caused his defeat, has finally joined political ally with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the PDP governorship candidate, who defeated him during the 2019 governorship election, to defeat Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani, the APC governorship candidate, come 2023 general election.
Recalled that Bindow was heard in the viral audio saying the Adamawa APC, which he “singularly nurtured to fruition is no longer a political party but an NGO”.
Bindow also alleged that the Yola Fulbe despised him and had stood to ensure his defeat during the 2019 election.
Bindow, who claimed that it wasn’t him but the stakeholders who invited him to join the APC governorship race with a view to reclaim his mandate but was eventually betrayed with the humiliating defeat right at the party primaries and the feeling of being ignored? Abandoned? Neglected?
Where did Bindow secure his massive support, votes during the 2019 election? In Mubi, Maiha or Yola? What were his votes cast in the southern senatorial district of the state, more particularly in the Numan Federation?
“Nemeses strike him down; remember he declined to approve the appointment of the Emirate Council selected district head of Jalingo-Maiha, even after the court order has mandated him against his unlawful wish; local government and primary healthcare workers were not paid for several months until the election time, were some of the reasons for his defeat. It has nothing to do with the alleged Fulbe Yola hate. And just like Bindow, Fintiri could not honour the court order to approve the appointment of the District Head of Jalingo-Maiha, even after the appeal court determination and the later order of mandatory injunction compelling him to approve the appointment, as much as he has not visited Maiha local government after the swearing in, an electorate in Maiha would point out.
Sahel online reported that Bindow has finally pitched a tent with Governor Fintiri for his reelection. The move was revealed to the Governor by a delegation of Bindow’s 250? support groups.
Speaking at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Yola, on Monday, leader of the delegation, Malam Abdullahi Bakari said the visit was based on the directive of their principal.
He said the former Governor has asked them to convey his appreciation to Governor Umaru Fintiri for ensuring completion of all the projects he inherited across the state. (All the projects!)
“Our Principal asked us to thank you for continuing with his projects, which have developed the state. We want to assure you our support as leaders of the Bindow Support Groups,” he said.
Contributing, Deputy Director General of the Group, Doctor Michael Zirra said they found Governor Fintiri worthy to be supported after weighing all the candidates on the scale of competency.
“We have done a lot of analysis, we look at your relationship with our principal, we went round, we looked at what you have done, we decided you are the best person we should support,” he said.
The Secretary General of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council, Alhaji Aliyu Idi Hong saluted the former governor for collapsing his structures to support the reelection of Governor Fintiri.
“The opposition candidates said they would bring progress. Which progress would they bring when we have flyovers all over? The essence of politics is progress and you have seen it in Adamawa,” he reaffirmed.
The State Chairman of PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu who was represented by his deputy, Mr Stephen Doma said the party would give fair and equal treatment to members of Bindow Support Groups.
Responding, Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation for the solidarity support by Senator Bindow, assuring that he would work together with the team for the progress of the state.
He said “I’m indebted to this loyalty. We are coming together to put more energy into the Adamawa project. Bindow has started and we have completed it. The development we have seen today is unprecedented.”
Fintiri further stressed that the state has never had it so good than now under his administration as the government has built massive infrastructure among others.
“We have done wonderfully well for this state. We have built classrooms and provided them instructional materials across the state. We will rehabilitate 68 schools,” he said.
“We can’t have a Governor who runs in proxy. You have to be a man or woman that knows the direction of the people of Adamawa State. I know the capacity of those who are coming,” Fintiri said.
“Nigeria needs a president that is well prepared. Let’s support Atiku Abubakar to salvage this country. I can easily conclude that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will be our next President in Nigeria by God’s Grace,” he said.
“Elections are not won outside the state. You have to work with people who are within. I’m assuring you that I’m a leader. Nobody can rig me in this election. Let them come and let’s play the game according to the rule.
He therefore called on Senator Bindow to formally come back to PDP as it is the only people’s party to reckon with.

The former governor of Adamawa State has no political direction, like I have seen him among delegations at Muhammadu Buhari Square advocating for Binani, yesterday.
The worst was the total dismissal of more than 10,000 workers by governor Fintiri. I think this enough to bring end to his political career.
Secondly, his quiet on the NCE holders who fully participated in all the series of hard aptitude test conducted by Post primary School Management Board and later those qualified personel were abandoned. This is another heavy failure to Fintiri.
Besides, the commissioning of cottage hospitals in the state but without start operating and nobody employed to work in the cottages is another terrible failure.
Lastly, he tantalized Adamawa State youths that he was employing 4000 of them and nobody is employed up to date is another grivious failure awaiting the current Governor.
