According to the French writer Victor Hugo, no one resists an idea whose time has come. As Election Day approaches, the significance of a woman in a governorship race in Nigeria has become more lauded. The BINANI tsunami is fast sweeping not only through Adamawa State but also the country and grasping the attention of the rest of the world.
The concern for outsiders is to let the process be fair and just but to the Adamawa people, they are waiting for her to be sworn in as depicted in their turnout at all possible occasions. BINANI is simply an idea whose time has come.
She rose through her political challenges in a fashion observed to be more from the interest of the challenges to succumb to the BINANI tide than any other influence. The tide has always been one of human and capital development for the benefit of all.
The tide has always been her humility, kindness, pragmatism and all her other rare qualities that speak of hope and development for the people of Adamawa State. BINANI is simply an idea no one can resist.
At first it could be presumed it was going to be a campaign based on gender prejudices. Opposition quickly changed their running mate. But well, as it later became bare, BINANI is just a phenomenon happening at God’s chosen time to set the pace and open another political history book of our democracy in all positive spheres.
It has become not about the expected prejudices, she is running based on issues and ideas – a thing she has shown over the years in human and capital development across the State.
This is earning her all the support including oppositions and undecided voters. When we speak of being tested and trusted, we speak BINANI. She is just an idea whose time has come!
