…Not true. But if at all, though not necessarily conceding that it is true she is making these donations, why now? – Governor’s Aide
The Periscope Global
The groups supportive of APC governorship candidate in Adamawa state, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani, optimistic of victory too, as popularity survey would reveal, lamented that the state has not had it so bad than in the present administration, when the ruling party, jittery of humiliating defeat, would stoop to role-playing politics with bitterness, hence denied pupils students and teachers the use of the instructional materials and utility vehicles for the football clubs, being donated by Binani and thst which the government failed to provide and would not have done so till thy kingdom come.
“Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani in her magnanimity, mission accomplishments and promise fulfilments, in the spirit of working the talk by thinking outside the box, has massively supplied instructional materials, free of charge, to the public schools. However, the state governor, who is also desirous of reelection, has taken to playing the opposition politics with bitterness, without considering the impact the educational items would have on knowledge development of the pupils and students in the state that UNICEF study revealed as one of the most educationally disadvantaged in the country, the same way it coersively denied Adamawa United and Adamawa Queens football clubs from receiving brand new Hummer buses, donated by Binani in collaboration with NDE that would address transportation challenges whenever and wherever the teams have matches to play across the country.
“The vehicles will not only ameliorate the transportation difficulties but it will give the players and stakeholders a sense of dignity and motivation to move on,” the groups would argue.
Responding to the Periscope Global, via SMS, the Director General, Media and Communications to the State Governor, Mr Solomon Kumangar denied the allegation. He also alleged that there was campaign undertones associated with the books and vehicle presentations coming at this electioneering period.
He said “…not true. But if at all, though not necessarily conceding that it is true she is making these donations, why now?”
Adamu Ibrahim Jimeta a legislative aide to Binani said “there’s no time Distinguished Senator Binani comes to Yola without coming along with one project or another people oriented activity throughout her tenure to be able to fully actualise her oromises. Therefore the instructional materials to schools and vehicle presentations are also extensions of her activities”.
Presenting 70 vehicles to the faith based organisations, football clubs, other groups and individuals, Binani said was in in response to the request by the constituents and in accomplishment of her promise.
She said “today is yet another historic day. In collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment we are about to present our religious organizations, women and youth groups and some individuals with Sienna 2008, 2005, 2001 models and 4 Hilux vehicles”.
Explaining the reason for the inclusion of the football clubs, Binani said, “…despite representing Adamawa very well at different nationwide leagues, I am not unaware of the difficulties faced by our football teams whenever they want to travel outside the state for matches. Today, we are presenting the following teams brand new Hummer buses to ease their difficulties whenever they have matches anywhere. The clubs are: Adamawa United FC, Binani FC, Makwada FC and Adamawa Queens FC.
“It is worthy of note that all beneficiaries are shortlisted after a careful study of their social responsibility contributions to our society and our genuine belief that supporting the beneficiaries means touching the lives of our people at the grass root.
Makwada football club and Binani football clubs have graciously and gratefully received their vehicles. The teams have since started celebrating the long awaited good things ever to happen to them in God’s name.
“Politics apart. the vehicles are meant for us, we shall collect them after the election, perhaps even more depending on who becomes the governor. But truly speaking there’s future with Binani,” the fans of the Adamawa United abd Queens football clubs would tell the Periscope Global sport on the spot.
