The APC governorship candidate in Adamawa state, Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, the Governor-In-Waiting, Binani has again, with compassionate heart, extended her magnative magnanimity to the would have been stranded Adamawa state students in distant tertiary institutions by sponsoring their journey back home, following the election holiday, to exercise their franchise.
Binani’s prompt intervention was in response to the students’ union leadership’s request to come to the rescue of its members who are stranded in distant campuses across the state following the election break.
The call for Binani’s intervention, the students’ leaders would explain, was the last option not to be stranded, not to be disenchanted by being disenfranchised. It was necessitated by the delay on the part of the Adamawa state government to respond to the students’ request for vehicles to transport them back home.
One of the students’ leaders, while responding to the Periscope Global said, “while other state governments were prompt in the efforts to transport their students in distant tertiary institutions back home to exercise their franchise. We wrote to the Adamawa state government but there was no positive response. We then extended the call to Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani, the courageous, compassionate and spirited leader, the amazing amazon with motherly heart promptly responded to her would have been stranded children. Hammanjoda Abubakar Mbela is the President Adamawa State Students’ Union, Bayero University Kano, BUK, Chapter, he revealed that owing to the disappointment to have been caused “by the delay in handling our request on the side of the state government, we would have been stranded. We got the GSM number of Distinguished Senator Binani’s legislative aide, Adamu Ibrahim Jimeta, who incidentally is a BUK alumni. He instantly communicated to his principal and our mother, the amazon amazingly swung into prompt action to ensure the fulfilment of our requests to the fullest. We’re now fully back home to exercise our franchise.
“We’re grateful to the distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani for the motherly care and concern. We also commend Adamu Ibrahim Jimeta for communicating our cries to Binani to be able to wipe our tears”.
Abbas Abubakar Song, is the President, Adamawa State Students’ Union, University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID, Chapter, in letter of appreciation addressed to Binani he said, “kindly accept the assurance of the compliments of our entire members of the Adamawa State students’ union, University of Maiduguri Chapter.
“On behalf of my humble self, executives and the entire members of our great union, I heartily wish to declare our profound appreciation to you, Distinguished Senator, Hajiya Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani for your timely response in providing five buses, which conveyed one hundred students from the campus to Yola to enable us exercise our their civic right of voting in the forthcoming general Elections.
“While we appreciate your support, it is our fervent hope that our members of the union will continue to benefit from the gains of your policies and programmes. Thank you”.
Rejoice Dauda is a Member, Adamawa State Students’ Union, Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, Kaduna state, she said but for Binani’s intervention, they would have been stranded. “It would have been a costly delay if not a disappointment if we were to still wait for the state government’s response. So, we invited Senator Binani to rescue the situation and her prompt action was a remarkable success. We’re happily and safely back home to exercise our franchise. We pray for her governorship aspiration to come to fruition”.
