…Like Fintiri Like Bindow, The Inconclusive, The Refusal To Honour Court Orders As Relate To District Head Of Jalingo Maiha…
…”Always be a poet even in prose.” (Theme of the 2023 World Poetry Day)…
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state, the PDP governorship candidate can now best describe what it means for one to be declared as legitimate district head before the law, in tune with the recommendation of the Emirate Council, respecting the choice of the citizenry, which indeed stands as God’s choice, in God’s name, only to end the jubilation by refusing to honour the courts orders; to approve the appointment as the courts declared.
There was celebration at the Adamawa state government house; though without supplication it was gathered, the like of Governor Yahaya of Gombe who dedicated his victory to God in sujud al-shukr, when the INEC Returning Officer, at the collation centre in Yola, resolved to uphold the third result of the Fufore governorship election that with all pleasure and flavour, pleasingly and pleasantly favours the PDP governorship candidate and the party, which without any consideration of flexibility, the overjoyed party’s returning officer, desirous of retiring with the assumed rather than assured victory result to the government house, to join in the celebration with the celebrant, hurriedly signed the document, which the returning officer of the major opposition party in the state, the APC, was not only satisfied with the rather unconvincing margin but also yet to be addressed three results manufactured from the same governorship election, among other already reported voting irregularities, hence declined any endorsement until complaints, however the complexities, are cleared.
Sujud al-shukr is done in response to a calamity that is averted or a blessing, which comes to a person. Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe was captured performing the supplication following the announcement of his reelection victory, than taking to hip-hop with Well wishers in celebration.
The jubilation suddenly turned to sober reflection at the government house, when after signing the result sheet by the PDP agent and a copy being handed over to, the INEC Returning Officer then declared the outcome of the voting as inconclusive.
Mohammed Mele is the INEC Returning officer. He in the interim explained that the elections were not held in 47 wards across the twenty-one local government areas of the state.
Mele revealed that the total number of rejected/canceled and invalid votes, 37,616, exceeded the lead margin of 31,249 hence it makes the election inconclusive.
Any protest by the PDP would be meaningless because she has signed and collected the result sheet. “What a shit!” A juvenile poet in the US would say.
How painful! You can imagine what the Hausas would refer to as “ta leko, ta koma”.
James Hadley Chase’ “Joker in the Pack,” or is it “The Way the Cookie Crumbles? You take some tricks in playing your card, it looks like a winning game, then comes the Joker. That’s the way the cookie crumbles.
The “Inconclusive” election has in 2019 pushed the former Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla, a.k.a Bindow from the Dougirei Hill to be occupied by the present Governor Fintiri. The former’s attempt to disorder the over 200 years monarchical order in Jalingo-Maiha was resisted and challenged before the law. He was defeated but perhaps the immunity in executive position would not let him honour the court orders, the same way, to this day, Governor Fintiri has not approved the appointment of the district head over 5 years after judgement.
The Inconclusive election indeed makes the law of Karma. This takes another story, a Sage like James Hadley Chase’ Al Barneey, the man with “an ear to the ground” would relate.
