Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended two members of hunters association impersonating as National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, personnel at Balkari Village, Hong local government area of the state.
A statement by the image maker of the police command, SP Sulaiman Yahya Nguroje Tuesday revealed that the two suspects Abdulrazak Bindow and Ismaila Ali, residents of Maiha town were arrested during an illegal raid on Monday.
“The duo were said to have at the early hours of 2/3/2023, armed themselves with guns and invaded the village, wearing NDLEA jackets, making the villagers to believe them as personnel of the law enforcement Agency, apprehended and handcuffed one Amos Daniel, Kwada Fitagu and Gambo zira before the villagers raised alarm and alerted the police who immediately responded and effected their arrest.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of Hunters Association Adamawa state Chapter.
“The Commissioner of Police, Afolab Babatola in an effort to ensure safety and security of the citizen, designed and emplaced a security template that guides the Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) in checkmating crimes.
“The CP directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the investigation and ensure all their collaborators are traced, arrested and prosecuted,” the statement said.
