I have a task to articulate a portrait of Malam Bashir Ahmad as the misunderstood SSG who’s committed to the official responsibility with fairness than submit to the mismanaged unconscious bias as a bane of bad governance, tied to injustice.
It would have been a completed manuscript. However, his additional actions and other conspiracies and complex complicity to undermine his functions keep filing in.
The face of the pastoralist as SSG Adamawa state is disgusting to those who madly nurture the one-of-us-ness ought be there than Ahnad, the same way the seeming distasteful to those who conceive the idea that both Bashir and the office of SSG should be of particular benefits to the constituency he belongs rather than for the entire state and the citizenry; the offence is the respect he has for the office and the way he knows best how to stick to the rules and restraints.
The Bashir-hate media propaganda was commissioned to covertly and overtly malign against the SSG, begging for elimination by substitution. This was followed by aggressive agitation, registering dissatisfaction. The Governor however, knows who controls the powerhouse and how tested is the truthful trust, placards with the inscriptions, “Bashir Must Go, For Another SSG,” how have been the protest in procession to the government house.
What irked the Bashir-hate as SSG is the new task of among the principal coordinators for the handing over kind of transition government; however in its continuity inauguration, in spite of the onslaught against his SSG, the Governor would not be moved even by inch.
Now the Jimeta PDP Stakeholders have, via social media, communicated their stand, expelling the SSG from membership based on their new discovery that he was not a bona-fide state citizen and a Jimeta Indigene because his father didn’t build a house in Jimeta.
Auwal, Ishaka, Muhammad and others would consider it as another SSG-Hate Conspiracy Cocooned In Jimeta PDP Stakeholders.
The question is, does it make him an indigene who built a house in Jimeta? Does it equally disqualify one who is born and brought up in, from being an indigene of Jimeta coming from a poor family that could not own a house?
“The Jimeta PDP Critical Stakeholder has unanimously resolved to dismiss Bashir Ahmad from its fold, though the forum initially didn’t consider him as one of its bonafide members- because of the controversy surrounding his indigeneship of Jimeta and Adamawa state as a whole. Bashir doesn’t have a biological father’s house in any part of Jimeta, as other indigenes of Jimeta do…” the script sounds.
.
How logical is the given as reason for the suspension and disqualification?
What is indigeneship ? Who Is an indigene? What does it take being a Jimeta Indigene? How critical are the Jimeta PDP Critical Stakeholders in disowning the SSG as an indigene?
What benefits drivable, if to be enjoined by the SSG, in being a member of Jimeta PDP Stakeholders, the same way as to the question of the Forum’s impact on the community and the PDP?
“The main reason the PDP lost Jimeta is Mallam Bashir Ahmad, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). He has become an impediment between the Fintiri Government and the Jimeta. Prior to the Governorship election, he openly and with pride told anyone that want to hear, that all the Jimeta-community-based critical stakeholders are not important, he will retire them from politics and that he will deliver Jimeta without any of them.
“So, the stakeholders resolved that, since they have done their best and delivered Jimeta to PDP and Atiku Abubakar in the presidential election, it’s good now they allow Bashir to also show his political strength and try his luck in Jimeta…
“Bashir didn’t only lose the entire local government council to the APC, but he lost his ward and polling unit. He lost both in Ajiya ward and Bekaji despite the infrastructural development brought to the areas by Governor Fintiri…” The script reads.
This can go for a self-confession, a self-indictment kind of, revealing the anti-party role play; They as PDP stakeholders folded their arms endorsing the conspiracy of no-participation in the electioneering process, leading to the PDP’s defeat in Jimeta.
If what the Forum has admitted holds water, then the SSG must be commended for the courage and singular efforts in gathering for the PDP, more than 10,000 votes during the governorship election, especially confronting a political heroine who has since won the hearts of over 80% of the electorates in the state capital with the “Sai Matan Nan” tsunami, referred to as the Binani phenomenon. Besides, central senatorial district is the amazing amazon’s constituency and Yola North local government where Jimeta is located. It only take abracadabra for the PDP to take over the APC stronghold especially with the selfless service rendered, effective and efficient representation and the skills acquisition programmes and social welfare schemes Binani carried out to make a self-reliant citizenry.
However, there’s another contradictory revelation, technically vindicating the SSG by means of indicting him to be deeply involved in the anti-party. How could that be when he was abandoned to peddle the PDP canoe in the middle of the political Ocean?
“Bashir was also involved in massive anti-party activities during the election. He actively worked against the PDP by secretly supporting the Labour Party (LP) during the presidential election, while during the Governorship and state assembly elections, he worked against Hamidu Lekki; he financially supported the SDP candidate, which resulted in the APC to gain an undue advantage…” According to the script
How convincing can it be that Malam Bashir Ahmad supported Peter Obi the presidential candidate of the Labour Party? If he would not support Atiku, then there’s no obvious to suggest that Ahmad would support the APC’s Tinubu for obvious reasons, one of which is that Labour Party hasn’t a base in the state. The allegation is however not surprising since Governor Fintiri himself was alleged to be a staunch supporter of Peter Obi
PDP’s Lekki and APC’s Alkali are both my brothers. To be fair to the assessment, in the present respect, Alkali appeared to be more popular to the electorates considering his previous outing, how he carried the electorates along. Therefore, SSG shouldn’t be blamed for the failure Lekki to win the hearts of the electorates
What do the Jimeta PDP critical stakeholders want to critically pass across as a critical message for the critical understanding of the critical concerns and the critical minded?
Rather than victimising him, reducing the SSG as a villain to be trusted like fox, the Jimeta PDP Critical Stakeholders have ended up eulogising Malam Bashir Ahmad, the SSG as a victor, a vindicated than vindictive victim that Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri should carry along…
To be continued…
