…Friday being Day 2 of the hearing records to Binani another success…
Aliyu Sabo Jimeta has reported that at the continuation of the proceedings Friday, before the Adamawa State Governorship Election Tribunal, the final documents as exhibits tendered by the counsel to the petitioner, the APC Governorship candidate in Adamawa state, Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed a.k.a, Binani, referred to as the Governor-In-Waiting, were finally inspected, marked and adopted before the Tribunal.
The counsel to Binani made an application to present witnesses that would testify about some of the exhibits (documents) in prove of the petition but the counsel to the Fintiri and PDP as respondents have objected the application on the grounds that to proceed with the trials without first serving the photocopies of all the documents sought to be tendered by the petitioners to the respondents as agreed during the Pre-Hearing session would prejudice the respondents’ right to fair hearing.
After a lenghty submissions by both parties, it was later agreed that the petitioners could proceed to call witnesses that need not to tender any documents in their evidence.
One of the witnesses was invited to testify. After having been crossexamined, the petitioners moved for adjournment to enable them make available the copies of the adopted documents to the respondents.
The hearing was adjourned to 12pm, Saturday, July 22, 2023.
It is gathered that the petitioners have since mobilized for mass photocopies of the said documents to be monitored by all the parties, Tribunal Clark and the security agencies.
