…Final addresses by, prayers of the Petitioner and Respondents represented by the Counsels determine the final judgment…
Flight disrupting weather Monday occasioned by windy, heavy downpour, which also resulted to boat mishap in which scores of people were feared dead, is attributed to be the cost of the shifting of the 13th sitting of the Adamawa state governorship election petition tribunal holden in Yola, the state capital, between the APC governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani as petitioner and the INEC, the PDP governorship candidate, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintir who was declared as returned elected and the PDP as respondents.
It was following the adjournment of the 12th sitting on Saturday, August 5, 2023 that September 12 was given as the date for the 13th sitting where final addresses would be entertained before the final judgment day could be fixed.
Some of the hopeful supporters that the judgment would be in their favour, based on the witnesses presented and the documents tendered as evidence have found a month and about a week’s grace so long for the sitting they would want to have super accelerated.
Days run fast it is said, if not faster these days; before any attempt to say Jack Robinson, the no joking time is without jacking jerked fast to the slated day, Tuesday, September 12.
However, it is gathered that the Aeroplane that flown most of the stakeholders – both sides – to the governorship election petition tribunal for the final prayers that would determine the judgement could not land in Yola on Monday, due to the bad weather, it flew back to Abuja.
The development has translated to the shifting of the 13th sitting to 1pm tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13, via zoom.
The moralists, rather than being embarrassed, have embraced fate in good faith, praying that the disappointment and reappointment would eventually be a blessing in disguise.
