…What form of Islam that denies a Binani and allows the opposition to field a female candidate as deputy and eventually serve as acting governor in Adamawa state?…
…Doesn’t it amount to religious hypocrisy, an act of tyranny and oppression to suggest a denial of mandate based on gender against a political heroine whose impacts on and to the citizenry are indescribable?…
Some Islamic clerics in Adamawa state have jointly reacted to the press briefing Wednesday, alleging that Ulamas from the state were sponsored to meet President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, against the status of the APC governorship candidate in the state, Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.ka Binani, generally referred to as the Governor-In-Waiting, ahead of the election petition tribunal’s judgment.
The clerics, led by Malam Jafar Sani and Malam Mukhtar Dayyib said “it’s unfortunate that some selected seeming sponsored Ulamas, as alleged, would arrogate to themselves the perception of the majority and claim the fascist like authority, to speak and/or act on behalf of the Ummah in general, joining the Binani hate, to disqualify her mandate under the cover that women are barred from playing politics to the elective position of chief executive’s function, in Islam.
“Doesn’t it amount to religious hypocrisy, an act of tyranny and oppression to suggest a denial of mandate based on gender against a political heroine whose impacts on and to the citizenry are indescribable?
“What form of Islam that denies a Binani and allows the opposition to field a female candidate as deputy and eventually serve as acting governor in Adamawa state?”
The clerics, as a splinter group, frowning at what they considered as an obnoxious move that dents the spirit of Da’awah devoid of personal interest and/or playing the buffer, pointed out boldly that not all Ulamas are into “anti-Binani for governor project! contract! tasked to take the immodest take before the President with a view to subdue justice in the judgment that is adjudged would democratise democracy by encouraging women participation in politics as much as in women’s education; the search for knowledge and the practice thereof, among other fields of empowerment endeavours.
The clerics have called on President Tinubu to be wary of religio-political merchants of selve-gain who do not have the citizenry, they would rather mortgage, at heart and to let justice take its course while deciding the genuinely elected governor of the state irrespective of gender, before the law.
“How illogical, presenting to the President, an opposition candidate against a candidate of his party for a mandate support? Doesn’t it amount to anti-party? Isn’t it a classic case of conspiracy?”
The clerics considered this as purely a political manoeuvre, manipulating a religious intervention further from Islamic tenets, hence have urged the Vice President Kashim Shettima to stand firm in defence of his party and candidate in Adamawa state, being the leader of the entire north.
The clerics equally called on the global women groups to rally round their own against injustice, conspiracy, and alienation for women emancipation, liberation and participation in politics genuine politics without borders, without bitterness.
