One of former Secretary to Adamawa State Government, SSG, Adamawa State, Dr Umar Buba Bindir has bagged the Humanitarian and Community Support and Empowerment of the Year Award.
Bindir, holding the traditional title of Mofti in Adamawa Emirate Council is the founder of Bindir Knowledge Centre where women are youth are drilled in different skills, more particularly the ICT with a view to become self-employed and employers of labour in private sectors in future.
The Award organisers identified Bindir is a change agent and humanitarian icon who rendered selfless service as a social responsibility tied to empowerment, peace building and mutual coexistence in multi ethno-faith communities, in addition to the effective and efficient leadership for which he is being recognised everywhere he is assigned responsibility.
According to organisers, Bindir was so awarded alongside other well meaning Nigerians in Abuja for his tireless efforts in uplifting rural communities through humanitarian endeavors over the years.
The politico-technocratic Mufti, Bindir is a recipient of so many awards honoured across places and fields of endeavour. He was Coordinator National Social Investment Project (NSIP). DG/CEO National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Director, Technology Acquisition and Assessment, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Director Federal Ministry of Sports and Social Development, Director of Monitoring and Management Information Services, National Poverty Eradication Programme, The Presidency, and Director of Operations, Family Economic Advancement Programme (FEAP), Presidency.
Bindir, an active non hypocritical APC member, is a key member of Adamawa Community in Abuja (ACA) an advocate of peaceful coexistence beyond party affiliation.
