Chief Amb. Engr. Peter Chukwuemeka Ohagwa, KSC, FCAI, the Dike Ejiagamba 1 of Nkwere and Bobajaiye of Isolo, Lagos was born on the 29th day of April 1955 at Umunachi Village, Nkwerre L.G.A of Imo State, Nigeria.
He attended Ngwa Road Primary School Aba, Abia State and later Eziama High School, Aba Abia State. Thereafter, he proceeded to Oxford Barham Institute of Technology, Sydney, Australia where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc Second Class Upper) in hydrology in 1982. Also he bagged National Diploma (ND) in Paralegal Studies and Related Sector with Upper Credit level at ACCOTECH University Owerri, Imo State.
Chief Amb. Engr. Peter Ohagwa was a Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Peace and Conflict Resolution, a position he has been diligently holding since 2011 and in 2019, he became the first First Director General of the Bureau for Peace & Conflict Resolution Imo State Agency till date. He has a attended various certificate courses and professional trainings in line with Peace & Conflict Resolution among which are; Certificate on Peace Mediation Professional Training by Inmedio Institute, Berlin Germany; Certificate on Dialogue & Mediation Training by Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution/Political Affairs, ECOWAS Commission among others.
Prior to his present appointment, he has held several key positions in many reputable organisations including: Project Manager, West African Surveys Ltd, Rivers State (1982-1983); Technical Director, Geo- Hydro Resources Project Ltd, Lagos (1983-1984); General Manager, Imo State Supply and Distribution Agency, Owerri (1985-1986). As a resourceful and enterprising personality, he went into private business and became the Managing Director of Petro Resources Projects Ltd, ( Construction/Water Base Company) in 1984.
Chief Engr. Ohagwa belongs to several professional and social associations such as: Fellow, Council of Corporate Affairs Institute; UN POLAC ambassador for Peace; Member of Nigeria Water Sanitation Association Imo State; Founder, Imo State Coalition of Peace Advocate Association;
President General, Advanced Youth Movement; President General Emeritus, Nkwerre Aborigenes Union (National); Distinguished man of the moment on Effective Security Vigilance, Peace and Conflict Resolution in South-east Nigeria award by Nigeria Senate.
Amb. Engr. Peter Chukwuemeka Ohagwa is currently the Deputy Country President, UN POLAC and has contributed in no mean measure to the growth of the Organization. He is a devout Christian and a Knight of Saint Christopher. At his leisure time, he enjoys playing table tennis and football. Chief Ohagwa is happily married and blessed with six children.
