… Over N131 million outstanding will be shared to subscribers on pro rata basis
…Some groups tried to hijack the Workers’ Housing Project from Kriston Lally using the Good Homes in vain
…Good Homes Ltd took over; hundred of millions of naira were subscribed, it’s now proscribed without a single block, a land or the monies invested in the housing project. Labour leaders ought to work on this development – Otunba
Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki, a.k.a Otunba of Ekiti, the former Labour Party governorship candidate in Adamawa state said Abuja High Court has eventually vindicated him from the baseless accusation of financial infarction.
RETROSPECTION:
In 2013, a company called Kriston Lally, under leadership of Alh Mustapha Umar Madawaki, in conjunction with their International partners, leveraged on their relationships with the Suisse Banks and other world acknowledged Institutions to secure a $6 billion dollar facility to build 600,000 affordable houses for Nigerian workers over a period of 20 years.
This project was well received, hence the over 3000 subscribers who contributed well over 3 billion naira, and two pieces of land totalling 780 hecters gotten from President Good luck Jonathan for free.
The leadership of NLC under Abdulwaheed Omar then introduced another developer Good Homes Limited, with the sole intent to jeopardize and take over the project from Kriston Lally. This was vehemently resisted by the company, which resulted in intimidation using Security agents and EFCC.
The matter eventually went for litigation and all the 17 count criminal charges slammed against the company and Alh Mustapha Umar were thrown and he was discharged and acquitted.
All subscribers were refunded their money. However, there is still an outstanding of well over 131 million in the account.
Attempts have been made to tamper with the outstanding amount without the consent of Alh Mustapha Umar, but for the refusal of the Registrar of the Court.
However, last week Friday, Alh Mustapha Umar accompanied by the subscribers’ representative, Mr David Oluwole went to the Federal High Court to instruct the payment of the outstanding to all the subscribers on Pro rata basis.
“I thanked the High Court and the bank for the wonderful roles they played, which translate to safeguarding my integrity and vindicating me from the vindictive Labour Union inclined obnoxious libel against my person,” Madawaki said.
