After about 11 months, Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, M.A.U.T.H Yola Adamawa state has eventually got a substantive Chief Medical Director.
Professor Adamu Bakari Girei, the pioneer Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Modibbo Adama University, MAU Yola, Adamawa State has taken over from the pioneer Chief Medical Director, M.A.U.T.H Yola, Prof Auwal Muhammad Abubakar.
Prof Bakari was commended and congratulated, was assured of maximum support and cooperation of the entire staff and management of the hospital.
The assurances were made Wednesday, during the handing over ceremony at the boardroom of the hospital, led by the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC, Dr Ahmadu Baba Usman who served as Acting CMD for the period of eleven months.
Prof Adamu Bakari, having taken the instrument of authority, to also chair the handing over meeting with the top management of the hospital, commended the members of staff and management for managing the hospital and for the assurances of maximum support and cooperation.
Healthcare delivery service is a teamwork, though the onus of responsibility for ensuring quality assurance lies with the chief executive who takes the condemnation and the commendation either bad or good services, as the foot soldiers, who though may seem unimportant and do not have a high position, are those who do a large amount of the very important work, though not without supervision.
The bottomline is to have efficient and effective healthcare services in a conducive environment to the clients’ satisfaction.
For Prof Bakari, to improve providers’ satisfaction is to improve clients’ satisfaction hence the need for staff motivation; a ground to also challenge bad service.
