The detribalised, uncompromising nationalist, philanthropic technocrat, founder and chief executive officer of Balema Oil, Balema Aid Foundation, Tein T.S Jack-Rich
has established a state chapter of Jack-Rich Grassroots Empowerment Centre in Yola, Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria.
The leadership of the Jack-Rich foundation has reached out to 56 former ward councillors from the 5 local government areas of the central senatorial district of Adamawa state, referred to as the 5M LGs; Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha, Michika and Madagali local governments for her inaugural meeting that is aimed at enriching and empowering communities in the area through the local councils.
Hon. Faisal Mukhtar Duhu, the state coordinator of the centre Saturday, having welcomed the participants, enumerated the philanthropic interventions and humanitarian activities and projects as a social responsibility being carried out by the founder of the the centre across the country adjudged to be having great impact; “to have positively touched the lives of the less privileged people in the country.
“Suffices to say that Jack-Rich has impacted the lives of many communities in Nigeria, by providing portable drinking water, building water treatment plants, agricultural development, roads rehabilitation and construction, drainages and intervention in IDP projects among other social responsibilities across the country.
“Jack-Rich’s vision, is to increase indigenous capacity development in order to sustain the future, ensure continuous creation of jobs and social interventions to mention a few.
“It will interest you to know that Jack-Rich is willing to reach out to grass root and it’s strongly believed that as councillors of the various wards, we felt you are “grassrooted”, so close to the communities and whatever helping hand that should be channelled, will be channelled through you as stakeholders of those core communities.”
The state chapter youth leader of the foundation, Mr Rilwan Haruna Lawan articulated the roles of youth as the most powerful, resource group, referred to as the livewire in the society, who should not be allowed to be used in destroying rather than building the country; a category that would make life meaningful and contribute to the progress and development of their communities with the kind of Jack-Rich support as a departure from sponsoring thuggery banditry and any associated insurgency that defined insecurity in the country.
X-raying the socioeconomic roles and political participation of women in Nigeria, Mrs Sarah Jackson Solomon called on the women to strive harder in holding the first and best key to success, which she considered as knowledge; to acquire the necessary skills acquisition and empowerment with a view not only to be self-reliant but also be supportive of the family and consider the possibility of participating in active politics rather than remain as passive recipients of received truth.
On his part, Hon Nuruddeen Ismail Daware an executive member of the centre, explained that an exemplary leadership lies in the exceptional charismatic personality who excels in exhibiting participatory democratic leadership by example with the incorruptible spirit of fairness, sincerity and justice to all.
Hon Regina Pius Hammawa said Jack-Rich Grassroots Empowerment Centre should not have come at a better time than now
when the question of entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and functional education aremuch in need rather than advertised and the children, youths and women are much in need of the support to be able to achieve the self-reliant skills.
In their separate goodwill messages the participants have commended Jack-Rich for the forward looking thought, for the philanthropy and humanitarian services and for establishing such foundation, a centre that empowers the seeming alienated less privileged social class as a corporate and philanthropic social responsibility.
Muhammad Auwal Jada, an executive member of the centre, incharge of media relations and events management explained that councillors from the senatorial districts of the state would also be separately invited to benefits from similar programme as stakeholders in the peace and unity, empowerment of the poor, progress development and societal reorientation.
