The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa state, Mohammed Ahmed Barde has directed the combined search and rescue security operatives to go on a massive hunt for the abductors and rescue the former Medical Director, State Specialist Hospital, Yola, Dr Said Bala.
The Medical Doctor was was reported to have been abducted immediately after observing Magrib prayer on Monday in his Aisha Hospital, established at Ngurore, after expiration of his tenure as Medical Director, State Specialist Hospital, Yola.
Ngurore, a satellite town on the outskirt of Yola, the state capital, has in recent times been bedeviled by violent crimes, including kidnapping.
A source close to the family has it that “about four armed men on motorcycles, stormed the hospital shortly after magrib, shooting into the air to scare away people and abducted Dr Bala.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje, “the CP has given assurance that the medical doctor will soon, by the grace of God, be rescued unharmed and the abductors will be apprehended,” adding that the CP has pledged to pay any anonymous informant with credible information on the abduction and/or the abductors.
