The Vice Chancellor Adamawa State University, ADSU Mubi, Prof. Kaletapwa G. Farauta has commended the Dodo family for supporting education in the state and beyond, which translated to donating books to the university.
The Information and Protocol Officer of the university, Mr D D Kwabe Thursday, revealed that “the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kaletapwa G. Farauta appreciated the Dodo family on behalf of the management, staff and students of the University for the family’s kind gesture.
“The VC used the opportunity to call on well-meaning individuals in the state to emulate the gesture by extending any form of support or donation to the university”.
The books, according to the Information and Protocol Officer, were presented to the VC by Dr. Aliyu Jibrilla, the Head of Economics Department of the university, on behalf of the Dodo family in the presence of other principal officers.
Dodo family, as a social responsibility, with the spirit of accomplishing the late Justice Muhammad Dodo’s dream, has been supporting healthcare, education, community and youth empowerment in Adamawa state and beyond.
The family has donated medical equipments and books to Federal Medical Centre, FMC Yola and other hospitals, in addition to carrying out free healthcare delivery services in the three geopolitical zones of the state.
The family has invested in education by building school in the rural area of Maiha local government and donating instructional materials to other schools in the area.
The family has last year established Dodo Academy at Damare ward, Yola South local government area for the benefit of pupils and students in the community and beyond to have the taste of combined European and Nigerian systems of teaching and learning in a controlled class, equipped with mordern teaching and learning facilities, guided by qualified and adequately trained teachers.
The family has equally engaged in the afforestation programme with a view to create forests as a remedy to desert encroachment and increasing carbon capture by sponsoring tree planting campaign; providing seedlings, facilitating the the tree planting and the general horticulture in Maiha local government.
