The troubles confronting communities are self-caused, self-inflicted. The question lies in where do communities get it wrong?
A philosopher would insinuate that it is from the man’s rib, if you know what come from the rib and from the man’s loin if you know what comes from the loin. Just check, control the product and the community is out of the maze, is out of ruin, out of trouble.
The trouble with the community is reincarnating the ugly life style terribly enjoyed in the zeitgeist, described as the darkest age in Arabian history prior to the emergence of the mercy unto mankind, Muhammad (SAW) the seal of the Messengers of Allah (SWT) where women were reduced to mere object of ridicule, of entertainment, used and abused at every lost in lust circumstance; seduction, molestation, rape and any act defined as women abuse did not exist, if there were any dictionary and/or book on morality.
What do you make of the modern day beauty pageant; parading immoral, far from being marriageable but manageable before the irresponsible lost in lust men?
What do you make of women – for the most part, showcased in nudity – used as object for customer attraction by means of advertisement?
Imam Haruna Yawale of the FMC Yola Mosque would raise as expostulations during the Qutba on Friday.
That a Hijab-kitted-village-in-Kano lady emerged as Nigeria’s beauty pageant queen does not in anyway imply her justification of the morality in the faith she would claim to be professing suggested by the Hijab, as a mere material she wears, detested by the very faith she professed.
What are the checklist, the assessment scheme? Is it the Hijab and how the queen was kitted or it is what is concealed in the Hijab? How is it assessed and who are the assessors; the assassins of the concealed accessories?
There is more to the Hijab as understood as a ridiculous way of fashion. On the contrary, Hijab means total departure from being immodest, from immorality.
Study has revealed – the authenticity you may wish to verify – that more than 50℅ of men labour in raising children not from their very loins but from the loins of others. What this, by implication suggested is that the souring state of promiscuities and infidelities among both the married and the yet to, are scary soaring in our society. This is attributed to the growing levels of seductive instigated nudity in the name of fashion that expose women to the Jahiliyya type of molestation.
Islam as a religion is a complete way of life, the Qutba emphasised. It has defined the Godly-righteous way of living in which the freedom of one will not infringe on the right of other or others. It has liberated and emancipated women, restored their denied glory, integrity and respect by teaching modesty.
Women who hitherto were among properties to be inherited can now inherit properties of deceased relatives.
To preserve their modesty and be shielded from molestation and faith not to be hijacked, women are enjoined to be completely Hijab-kitted, the Qutba reminded the Ummah. Hijab is simply a way of avoiding obnoxious interactions, unlawful association with opposite sex.
The Qutba identified four types of Hijab:
The first is the call on women to remain at home; to avoid unnecessary visits outside of home, shopping etc.
The second is that if a woman must go out, she should cover herself completely not to attract the questioning gaze of men outside.
The third is when the necessity chanced that she must speak with the opposite sex other than her members of family that fall in the categories of those she must not marry – either as student, in office or at the market, she should speak with modesty rather than sweet-tongue-twisting seductive.
The fourth is that women should walk modestly rather than aim at attracting the attention of the opposite sex.
Perfumes to be used should not be that capable of attracting men attention either.
The Qutba lamented that reverse is however the case, adding to the dangers associated with social media; the WhatsApp, Instagram and others used in snapping and sharing seductive pictures even among married men and women not to talk of the unmarried; what a poet would refer to as a carnival of obscenity, courtesy of terrestrial platforms.
The Qutba observed that over 70% of husbands allow their wives to go to market for shopping, in their myopic understanding, women are being sold commodities at cheaper rates courtesy of their sweet-tongue-twisting bargain. This is indeed an invitation to infidelity as much as the same apply in offices and academic institutions.
The Qutba would challenge the parents to play the Luqman to their children lest the family go astray, warning that “it’s better for one to pray for death than for his family degenerate to immorality under his watch without taking appropriate measures”.
