Hong, one of the educationally rich local government is in central senatorial district of Adamawa state.
It has the required potential in terms of land fertility, perhaps minerals but certainly human resources to develop beyond what it is today but like the Nigerian factor the challenges in having effective and efficient leadership come to play.
However, the citizenry for the most part, irrespective of party affiliations, expressed delight that this time around the local government is blessed with a youthful, spirited, forward looking thoughts lawmaker at the state level who adjudged to be performing beyond his predecessors.
Hon Bathiya Wesley Mava’ama, elected member, Adamawa state house of assembly under the platform of PDP, is appreciated and commended by the people of Hong who would not have him stoned or catapulted owing to his performance; solid representation covering not only his immediate constituency but the state as a whole in terms of sponsored bills – the purpose for which he is elected – constituency development and social welfare.
Enumerating his achievements Mava’ama said, “I have set the ball rolling, I initiated and lobbied for many infrastructural Projects and completed them while others are still ongoing, I have impacted tremendously in the area of Legislation, Health, Education, Agriculture, Security and Social Welfare”.
The primary function of a legislator, Mava’ama explained, is to make law that will positively affect his Constituents and the State at large.

A Bill for for a Law to amend the Adamawa State University Mubi 2001, so as to confirm/comply with the Nigerian Universities Commission guidelines with regards to retirement age of Academic and Non Academic Staff and for matters incidental thereto. Contained in order paper No.165, 24th March 2020.
A Bill for a Law to amend the Adamawa Teachers’ retirement years Law No.17 of 2018 so as to restrict application of its provision to Science and English Language Teachers only and to provide for matters incidental thereto.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to regulate the medium standards for health care facilities and for the related matters.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to amend Adamawa State Health Insurance Scheme Law No.7 2011 to provide free basic health care services to unemployed persons under the age of 20 years, pregnant women, disable and indigents persons and persons above the age of 65 years amongst others.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to repeal Adamawa State House of Assembly Commission Law No.5 of 2002 and re-enact the Adamawa State House of Assembly Service Commission Law and to provide for other matters incidental thereto.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to levy administration charges by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for supervising building and electrical Projects for the state and to provide for matters incidental thereto.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to amend the Adamawa State or Penal Code Law No.10 of 2018 so as to provide stiffer punishment for the offence of rape and Kidnapping and to provide for other matters incidental thereto.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to establish Adamawa State Security Trust Fund and for other matters connected there with.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to establish the Adamawa State Public Complaint and Anti-corruption Commission and to provide other matters incidental.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to establish a Campus or Study Centre of the Adamawa State College of Nursing in Gombi Local Government Area.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to eliminate violence in private and public life, prohibit all forms of violence against persons and to provide maximum protection and effective remedies for victims and punishments of offenders and related matters.
Cosponsored a Bill for a Law to establish State Urban and Regional Planning Tribunal Law and to provide for other matters incidental.

In the area of education and infrastructure, in partnership with the CSDA, Mava’ama was able to facilitate the construction of 500 capacity examination hall at Fadama Rake and constructed modern clinic (PHC) with standard public toilet.
Lobbied for the construction of three blocks of classrooms and one office in 13 communities across Hong constituency, which include Dagza, Zhedinyi, Tasha Tiding, Daksiri-Pella, Midila, Kwabaktuna, Kwatau, Dilwachira, Wajja Girls, Ngalbi, Bangshika, Kwakwah and Kubutava respectively.
Lobbied for the rehabilitation of blocks of classrooms across Hong constituency in some communities, which include Zhedinyi, Mombol, Gashaka Primary school, Daksiri, Dilwachira, Duwa, mail Bakwai, mail Tara, Kukurpu, Thlabu, Waja, Kwabaktuna, Mbolnyi, Kala’a, Kwakwah and Mullula.
Construction of two classrooms and one office at Wafa”ati of Hosherizum Ward.
Donated 1000 blocks to Nigeria Union of Teachers ( NUT) Hong for the construction of their Secretariat.
Gave free JAMB Scholarship to 200 eligible graduating SS 3 students (2021) of Hong constituency.
Facilitated admissions from School of Nursing and Midwifery Yola to many eligible candidates from Hong constituency.
Facilitated the admission of eligible candidates presently studying in Meawer University India.
Lobbied for the construction of 3.2 killometers road of European Quarters Hong.
Lobbied for the construction of Pella Uding-Wuroboki rural road, which is now completed.
Lobbied for the construction of Shuwa kala’a-Dilwachira rural road.
He and Hon Aminu Iya Abbas lobbied for the construction of Hong-Mijili-Gaya rural Roads spareheaded by Rural Acessibility and Mobility Project (RAMP).
Lobbied for the ongoing construction of modern drain from LCCN Thlabu to Anguwan Hausawa Hong spanning 557meters.
In 2019 before the commencement of construction of Uding wurroboki road, he sandfilled the road for easy transportation of farm produce.
Funded the construction of about 231 metres drainage at Anguwan Jauro Sule Hong.
Partly sponsoring more than 87 tertiary underprivileged students of Hong Constituency across the nation.
Led a delegation of Victim Support Fund team to assess the damages caused by Boko Haram Insurgents to Hong Local Government Secretariat that is now renovated and commissioned.
Bought a plot of land worth 400,000 thousand naira to Pella Community for the expansion of the existing Water Board Station Daksiri Kwadak for the ongoing World Bank Water Treatment Plant Project.
Healthcare, the physical, mental and social well-being of human beings ( Hong Constituents) is basic hence this informed Mava’ama decision to pay much attention and substantially intervened within the Health Sector, upon request, and complaints he has been sponsoring the following services:
Free CS, hernia and other related surgeries at General Hospital Hong, Specialist Hospital Yola, German Hospital Yola and Federal Medical Center Yola to all Hong Constituents.
Given out free snake antivenom to 67 victims of snakebite at General Hospital Hong considering the fact that vast population of Hong Constituents are farmers and are prone to snakebite.
Intervened and partly paid Hospital bills on different ailments and severe fracture cases of not fewer than 267 Constituents within the span of two years, the records are there with Dr Nasir Musa Zolal.
In the area of water supply, Mava’ama drilled 8000 capacity overhead tank solar Borehole at kala’a and 8000 capacity overhead tank solar Borehole at Anguwan Jauro Sule Hong.

Drilled twenty (20) hand pump Boreholes at Makera, Kwanan kuka, Fadama Rake, Kwakwah, Dzumah, Uding, kukurpu, Anguwan Gada Pella, Sabon pegi Pella, Anguwan Madi, mail Tara, mail Bakwai, Bayan Kasuwa Hong, Faci, munga, Mombol, Midila, mbwalwa and Mbolnyi .
Overhauled more than 232 hand pump boreholes across Hong Constituency.
Overhauled abandoned motorized borehole at Filin idi Hong.
Lobbied for one hand Pump Borehole at Anguwan Usaku block Hong.
Dug three(3) Wells in three communities which includes kwana Mamuja, Duwa and Pathangda where Borehole cannot be sinked due to its terrain though experts are still on survey.
In the area of electricity supply, he procured and installed a 500KVA transformer to the good people of Wurroboki after they have been disconnected from National grid for over six months.
Agriculture is one of the bedrock of most socities in Northern Nigeria, hence he was able to lobby for farm implements to 100 less previleged persons in the past farming season through the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and IDPs (NCFR).
Donated some token of money to some specific underprivileged elders last year to augument their efforts in farming.
Procured and distributed assorted herbicides to some less previleged Youths across Hong Constituency.
In the areas of social welfare and empowerment,
he donated/Empowered seven(7) individuals with seven(7) cars to use for commercial purposes.
Donated a brand new Hilux to Hunters Association Hong Local Government Area to facilitate their surveillance.
Donated/Empowered ten(10) groups and individuals with brand new high grade Bajaj motorcycle, I have donated/empowered fifty (50) women with fifty (50) brand new sewing machine,
Donated fifteen (15) solar street lights to fifteen (15) Communities.
Donated twelve (12) wheel chairs to twelve (12) disabled persons.
Empowered 600 petty traders with cash, and Hong Central Vanguard with One Hundred Thousand (100,000) each (16 of them) to Start a business.
Lobbied for social intervention programme through YESSO in which more than 100 Youths benefited.
Empowered more than 200 widows and less previleged persons with a token of money, wrappers and souvenir, on the same date.
Gave out some gifts, yards and wrappers to 17 different groups and association in Hong Constituency.
Overhauled Hunters Patrol Van, bought set of tyres to both Nigeria Police Hong Division and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps Hong Command.

Donated relief materials to the victims of torrential rainfall at Munga, donated relief materials to the victims of suspected herdsmen attack in Holma Community and distributed food items during lockdown in addition donating 100 Knapsack Sprayer and assorted herbicides to some farmers among other interventions
