The Adamawa state APC governorship candidate, Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani was unavoidably absent at the burial of the media professional and scholar, Chief Timawus Mathias in Numan on Saturday.
Binani was however represented by high profiled personalities that include her husband, Prof Ahmed Modibbo, her running mate, the calm and cool-headed Hon Titsi Ganama, her Director General campaign, Sen Ahmed Barata and the public relations professional and communications guru, Hon Ahmad Sajoh.
Binani wished that she was at the mourning event, However, she has sent the tribute she would have presented. It reads
“With a heavy heart, I do a very difficult task of paying my last respect to Uncle Tim.
“I have thought of sharing with you my story with Uncle Tim but going down memory lane, I realized that it is not a story that would be well told here because almost every step of my life appears the name CHIEF TIMAWUS MATHIAS.
“Therefore, instead of telling you how impactful Chief Timawus Mathias has been in my entire life, I choose to express my sincere condolences and deepest appreciation to our late father for all he has done for me, my political career and the society at large.
“The singular privilege of standing by me since I joined politics and giving me maximum support, encouragement and guidance is a part I will forever cherish and miss.
“Indeed, we have lost a mentor and a father who has led a life worthy of admiration. Uncle Tim’s memory will remain a source of strength and inspiration and his light will continue to brighten our path as we forge ahead.
“May God comfort us, and may his immediate family and all of us have the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, Ameen.
“Adieu Uncle T.”
