Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani, the APC elected gubernatorial aspirant said the All Progressive Congress, APC, as a party is highly prepared and super ready to reclaim Adamawa state governorship seat come 2023.
Binani made the revelation Saturday at a press conference in Yola.
Binani said the results of the poll made her elated that the electorates in Adamawa, through the delegates, have made the right choice, a right move towards getting the state out of the maze; a prelude to progress and development.
Binani has commended the APC for giving women two slots of the five delegates each. She explained that the arrangement has produced more than 400 women of the 1113 delegates. She has benefitted from the arrangement at the poll, she said.
“This is the first time women are about 70% uniting together; voting for binani is like doing for your daughter. My emergence is a source of inspiration. It gives the hope that women aren’t relegated to the background anymore, politically speaking.
Binani expressed delight that the challenges associated with anti-feminism in politics have not affected her victory and is not posing any threat ahead of the 2023 general election.
Binani said she has done her part; winning the primary elections organised by the APC. Working out strategy to ensure victory in the general election is now the responsibility of the party and that APC is already ready for the victory with no compromise.
Apart from the confidence in the preparation, Binani said her blueprint and her manifesto along with the party manifesto make a unifying force that will ensure victory. She spelt out some of her agenda to include but not limited to human capital development, revamping the economy, social sector to do with ensuring peace and security, poverty alleviation by means of skills acquisition aimed at women and youth empowerment,
ensuring effective and efficient healthcare, education, provision of portable water and agriculture.
Women and children education will form part of Binani’s prominent priorities, where she pointed out that basic education is one of the core mandates of the state.
Binani enumerated some of her achievements as a lawmaker to include youth development, construction of clinics, renovation and building and equipping of schools with instructional materials and furniture, provision agricultural tools including fertilizer for free, sinking of industrial solar boreholes across the state and provision of solar electricity, she said she would do more as a governor.
