It is laughable that the seeming blind supporters, the suffering and sentiment smiling sympathisers of, are trying to announce it rather proudly loudly, misinterpreting the nomination notice, perhaps intended at nauseating intimidation that the Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has won the federal government’s distinguished award for infrastructure in the country, for transforming Adamawa state.
The question we simply put forward for the suffering and smiling, the lack-of-anything-to-show-for-it pro Fintiri group to tell us whether or not it is an InFraudStructure, the award at the forthcoming Excellence Award in Public Service as ‘strateginfrastructurally’ made by The Best Strategic, TBS media…
What yardstick, what criteria, what checklist adopted by the TBS team in the nomination process to have come with the high-debt-profiled government as the most infrastructurally remarkable for the best award reward?
Is the Fintiri’s infrastructure, for instance, any better than what is obtained in other states and in particular mention, what is on ground in Borno, one of the states in the northeast where no loan is attached?
Shouldn’t Governor Zulum be the candidate for the infrastructure among other awards in the north east?
We also have the personification of infrastructure excellence in Governor El-Rufa’i of Kaduna state for instance and many others. Could they also be nominated to face the final selection for the award presentation?
Suffice to ask, have the nomination been extended to other governors, some of whom could have disregarded it before inviting the Adamawa state governor, who is facing the challenges of declining popularity in the state or could the governors simply opted not to make their nominations public via their social media handlers?
The nomination notice reads in part that “all guests are to be seated by 9:30 am. Ms Mariam Mohammed, the TBS Team Lead will reach out to you with further details”.
What further details do you think this is meant, or do you think that the award is for free?
Alhaji Umar Mustapha Madawaki, a.k.a Otunba of Ekiti, flying high the Labour Party, LP Governorship ticket with the target of a safe landing on and in Dougirei Hill, would not have joined the governorship race if not with a view to get Adamawa state out of the maze occasioned by unhealthy debts that the citizens have started facing the consequences; one example of which is the delay in payment of the September salaries of the workers with the local government in the state.
N25 billion out of the N100 billion Agric Bond, as approved by the state assembly was collected. How the fund, part of which is said to be meant for improving the cattle markets in the state to be the most modern and most revenue generating, is utilised, is left for the citizenry to find out.
What is clear however, is that Otunba has publicly opposed the idea of the spontaneous overflow of the said agric loan as stupendously clueless, deceptive and exploitative and that which the cattle vendors eventually, vehemently rejected the suffocating, cardiac arresting tax before the law.
The obnoxious cattle tax rejection, which case still lingers in court, is observed to be frustrating the government, of having N150, 000 cattle tax per truck of 30 cows going south from the Cattle Market in the state when Borno State taxes N6, 000 only per truck of 30 cows.
The N25 billion debt servicing is said to have started in September it is learned, given as the reason for local government salary delay, making a part of the frowning citizenry to be famished by salary famine, when the supposed fine tuned fine-tree should be fanning fresh, free from fermented out of decay air.
With the beginning of the LG salaries delay occasioned by debts servicing and high dependency on federal allocation, workers with the state government could work with no salaly, any hope for the desperately politically motivated 4000 job openings and another 600 in the health sector in the state ahead of 2023 general elections.
As Otunba 2023 Media Group, we call on the citizenry to give this a critical thinking for a strategic solution.
