The Vice Chancellor, VC, Adamawa State University, ADSU Mubi, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta has some hours ago handed over the leadership of the institution to Dr. Stephen A. Lagu, a senior lecturer, to serve in acting capacity as the Vice Chancellor.
Documents to the effect of the transfer of leadership were jointly signed by the duo at the university’s liaison office Yola, in the presence of the institution’s Registrar, Alhaji Aminu Alkali.
Prof Farauta has formally resigned from the VC position following her selection to serve as the running mate of Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the PDP governorship candidate, who is the current governor Adamawa state, seeking for the second term.
Prof Farauta has is a recipient of the Periscope Global 2021 productivity award. She is recognised as the female vice chancellor the university has ever her, even though her tenure was marred partly by the coronavirus pandemic and partly, the close to a year industrial action being embarked by the university lecturers.
Farauta commended the management and staff of the university for their support and cooperation. She pleaded that it should be extended to the new leadership to be able to move the institution forward.
