…Is Governor Fintiri with other opposition party governorship candidates agreed with Dr Ardo’s weighty proposition? – Electorates
…Is Dr Umar Ardo’s challenge implying that if the APC governorship candidate in Adamawa state, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani is elected in her Yola South local government, she’ll win the entire state? – Literary Critic
The Social Democratic Party, SDP governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Dr. Umar Ardo said he would concede defeat to Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani, the APC governorship candidate, if she is elected in Yola South, her local government of origin in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
Ardo made what can be considered as weighty declaration on Tuesday while responding to Hon Ahmad Sajoh consideration of his plea for governor Fintiri to allow Binani the use of Mahmud Ribadu Square for her governorship flag off campaign as that induced by the fever of fear of the outcome of the actions of the incumbent governor and PDP candidate.
In the opinion of Sajoh, Ardo understood Fintiri’s action “as capable of attracting a huge sympathy for Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani and the APC. It was the same fear but of an opposite direction, the fear that Binani would fill up the venue and expose the emptiness of the PDP campaign that informed the incumbent governor’s action”.
Refuting Sajoh, Ardo argued that that it were the PDP and APC that have plunged the country to her sorry state and that the electorates have schooled themselves to say never again.
“I said it before on a national TV and I am repeating it again, if Senator Binani wins her local government, Yola South, against me, l concede defeat and let her be sworn in as governor.
“What could Sen. Binani and the entire APC team, both unmistakably standing on a weak and shaky ground, possibly tell the people of Adamawa state?
“Both of them combined to destroy the society and they want to now crave for power again, No! Adamawa people and indeed Nigerians, are wiser – at least if Nigerians are not, Adamawa people are.
“They now know their enemies and they’re those who stole their commonwealth, inflicted hardship to their lives, denied their children basic education, denied the society basic healthcare, made life unbearable through high cost of living, low level of earnings and lack of security to their lives and property.
“Ask our people, which political parties inflicted these wounds on our communities, their chorus answer is unmistaken – the PDP and the APC! In any decent society, both PDP and APC ought not to even show their faces in public; but because we’re living in a supine and perverse society, they’re not only talking but even canvassing for votes. It’s most sad!
“I think Sajo is deceiving himself by mistaking distribution of proceeds of corruption for enticement to popular support.
“Adamawa people now know better; the scales have dropped from their eyes, and they now can see and decipher the good ones and the bad ones.
“In the SDP, we’re armed and ready waiting for her and the entire APC team at the polls,” he said.
