The Periscope Global
Joining neighbouring Hong, the supper-overwhelming generic supporters across the entire local government areas of Song sang the “Sai Binani Sai Tinubu redemption song morning till night when the Adamawa APC governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmad, a.k.a Binani with the legislative candidates among her campaign train, visited the area.
More than anywhere visited, Binani’s billboards and posters of other APC candidates are shredded in the area. As a positive response, rather peacefully, the electorates in Ga’anda, Dunne among other towns and villages hung their women wrappers to the wood poles, revolutionalising Binani solidarity more than the poster could get to serve.
The songs in Song as the children, the young and old, men and women went into singing were eulogies, commending Binani for her mission, in accomplishing promises as a Senator, affirming that they would gain more with her as a governor.
Binani would caution the electorates not to let peddlers of sentiments to defect their memory; campaign should be issue based. What promises made and/or whether or not they are being accomplished by a candidate so elected is what counts in campaigns.
Good road to Ga’anda and other seeming abandoned towns with abundant electorates, good hospitals, potable water, good schools with effective and efficient teaching and learning among other social amenities, youths and women empowerment by means of effective and efficient skills acquisition programmes, appointments and employment opportunities are not determined by gender, tribe or faith a candidate seeking for election professed. They are determined by strategic planning and thinking outside the box rather than cluelessness. They are determined by effective and efficient leadership skills, fairness and justice.
It is lamentable that a pupil-actor in the sketch-play that showcases the seeming achievements of a governor that a teacher doesn’t even know the so-called free education policy, which could not even make available the school’s uniform, the writing materials as simple as chalk not to talk of a magic board with markers, in tune with the modern education, among other instructional materials. Apparently the school lacks sufficient chairs and tables as well as qualified teachers to be able to effectively compete with the private schools.
The pupil is saying he will want to further his education in the state capital where the governor erected flyovers he merely heard about rather than seen it. Instead of pleading for the rehabilitation of the dilapidated classrooms and erecting the new Yobe typed standard elementary schools in his village, in addition to building a good road leading to the village. Sycophancy is suggested as the theme of the sketch-play
Is there any need for a free education if parents could be empowered to financially stand on their feet rather proudly? They should be able to foot their children’s school fees.
Binani would emphasise on voting for the APC candidates from top to bottom to be able to gain in totality, the dividends of democracy.
