The Periscope Global
Giving a dog a bad name to hang can simplify be presented as a metaphor to the current realities with the Fulbe – Fulani, pastoralists, herdsmen – the prey for the most part, are pictured as predators that the murderous communities, backed by the mischievous media, have joined in allies to annihilate, more particularly in Plateau, Taraba and Benue axis. The question is, why these states?
The pastoral community in Plateau state are on Sunday, greeted with the shocking news of the gruesome murder of their children they prayed would in future contribute in multifaceted angles to the progress and development of the country, given as reason for their being enrolled into school; “they are slaughtered by the tribal-farmer militia with heinous cruelty without a cause other than the Fulani-hate”.
Fulbe Development & Cultural Organisation, FUDECO, established as a national NGO to promote development and set as a participatory research network on pastoralism has compiled the conspiracies, complicity and compromise to the clannish cleansing of Fulbe by some dominant tribesmen in for the most part, three states in Nigeria, namely, Plateau, Taraba and Benue.
Recording another ugly incident on Sunday, In a press release, the FUDECO national president, SS Nana has condemned the slaughter of the unarmed pastoralists pupil and student from the same family, by the suspected Irrigwe Farmer-Militia in Plateau state, while they were without any provocation, tending to the cattles they were tasked to, in their capacities as herdsmen.
FUDECO has called on the federal and state governments to be proactive in addressing such heinous challenges that constitute threat to peace and mutual coexistence, by fishing out the terrorists to face the law, lest it gets out of hand.

ANOTHER BRAZEN FULBE MASSACRE BY IRRIGWE FARMER MILITIA IN PLATEAU STATE:
- The concocted narrative of herders-men as professional killers without prompting is gradually being punctured every day by the activities of their supposed neighbors, which include farmers.
- Fulbe elite, pan~Fulbe organizations, NGOs, community leaders and other Fulani apologists have continually raised the alarm that crime and criminality have no ethnicity, which has always fallen on deaf ears.
- Unfortunately, even Government leaders at all levels have continually failed to provide the needed protection for Fulbe victims of hate speech and other forms of violence and criminality.
- In what looked like another episode of hate, on Sunday April 30, two unarmed Fulani children (siblings) in Plateau State (aged 12 and 9) have been mercilessly murdered by Irigwe farmer militia for no justifiable reason other than being Fulani.
- Suleiman Yusuf Bayero and Ja’afar Yusuf Bayero have been reportedly slaughtered at Dong Kassa village by suspected Irigwe farmer militias.
- Sulaiman was enrolled at Dutsen Kura community primary school in Bassa LGA of Plateau State, while Ja’afar is a student of Special Science School Toro, in Bauchi state:
- The two siblings had no issues with anyone and from well known peaceful family.
- A critical question to ask in this latest episode of brutal human massacre is this: What offense could a primary 4 pupil and a student of JSS 1 who were engaged in their daily routine of rearing animals, have committed against anyone to warrant such a callous feedback from these traditional merchants of hate?
- FUDECO calls on the authorities to take immediate and concrete action to investigate, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators of this latest, bizarre and intolerable Fulbe massacre.
- FUDECO, established a few years ago as a national NGO to promote development and set as a participatory research network on pastoralism, warns that this callous impunity is enough and any repeat will no longer be tolerated by Fulbe.
- The incoming Governor of Plateau State Mr. Muftwang has a Herculean duty to inaugurate a sustainable action plan to secure everyone in Plateau State including the Fulbe who have been mercilessly over targeted for
decades.

SS Nana
