Kebbi State Government has donated 25 Toyota Land Cruiser to the security outfits in the state to enhance their capacity of protecting lives and property of the citizenry.
Presenting the vehicles to the heads of security agencies in the state, Governor Nasir Idris, explained that the gesture was to complement and encourage the efforts of the security agencies in the fight against crimes and criminality in the state.
According to the Governor, the vehicles were meant to encourage the agencies in combating the current security challenge of bandetry in the state.
He assured of continue support to security agencies with logistics and urged them to maintain and make judious use the vehicles.
10 vehicles were allocated to the Nigeria Police, 6 to Nigeria Army, 4 to DSS, 3 to NSCDC and 1 to Vigilante Group while 1 vehicle was allocated to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security.
Governor Idris, equally revealed that official vehicles for the 26 Commissioners were also procured and would be distributed to them soon while that of the state assembly members was on its way.
Responding onbehalve of the security agencies, the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Aimionowane, while thanking the Kebbi state government for the gesture, assured to used the vehicles in curbing out crimes and criminality in the state.
He said, the vehicles would boost the moral of the officers and men of the security agencies to confront the security challenge of Banditary in the state.
