…They said he’s not elected, would Fintiri have been sworn in as a Governor? – PDP Stalwart
…I put it to you that Fintiri ‘ll not be the governor – Sen Abbo
…Presenting to you our Governor-In-Waiting – Nasir El-Rufai, joining Buhari, others
…The result I used to declare Binani as the Governor Elect is the authentic and genuine, more truthful revelations to come shortly – Hero Hudu
…Hudu, a Democratic Hero Not Villain: Nigerians ‘ll apologise to Adamawa REC after the court judgment because he has proofs’ – Hon Namdas
…They say the court will quash Tinubu/Shettima’s victory but it’s a done deal with the Fintiri’s swearing in, even though his declaration, which followed the Binani’s by INEC officials, is challenged before the law. What a double standard! – Bappa Waziri
The Periscope Global
TRANSITION: After the swearing in, what follows is the cabinet reshofulment and reconstitution. Some governors have since started. The only appointment that was made public in Adamawa state, at a receptionist in celebration, shortly after the swearing in, was that of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
It was expected in vain that what would follow immediately after the reappointment would be the announcement, by means of a press release, to be issued by the appointed press secretary, of the appointments of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
The appointments are however still on hold, breeding insinuations following discussions; whether or not the previous appointments would be retained.
Even though the first press release by the press secretary to the governor was the warning given to PDP Stakeholders to consider grassroots consultations while nominating candidates from their various local government areas for the possible appointments.
The press release revealed that Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has warned that on no account should the PDP stakeholders disregard the directive to return home and consult with the people before presenting the list of possible appointees.
Teeming electorate in the state however nurture rather tenaciously the slogan that “it ain’t over till it’s over,” among the various forms of the saying attributed to professional baseball manager Yogi Berra who “first uttered the phrase about baseball’s 1973 National League pennant race. His team was a long way behind when he said it and they did eventually rally to win the division title”.
Joining the popular call, Yunusa Abubakar, the literary critic would articulate that in the contentious case of Adamawa governorship election, “it’s the court that decide the elected beyond the swearing in, hence has taken to Yogi Berra’s “it ain’t over till it’s over,” motivational philosophy.
Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani, the APC governorship candidate that was earlier declared elected, would reject any result that does not present her as the winner of the 2023 Adamawa governorship election, given as reason for her consistent insistent on the holistic review of the election results by INEC using IREV. A call that Rt Hon Fintiri would disregard as unnecessary, hence Binani along with the APC would have to challenge the rejection before elections petition tribunal.
REC Ari Hudu, acknowledging the alleged thuggery, faulty collation and results announcement that would lead to shortchanging the lone female candidate, would have to do what he thought would salvage democracy from savagery by declaring Binani as the winner of the governorship election, based on the results as genuinely collated devoid of alleged financial inducement, he would say.
Hudu’s action was reacted to by the opposition supporters with insults, libel and doom prayers. He was castigated, and words-catapulted by most media without a fair hearing; he was lied about that he was paid N2 billion for what was regarded as drama, after which he went into oblivion to escape prosecution.
The Periscope Global insisted that REC Hudu must be given a fair hearing and that contrary to insinuations, hudu was avoiding persecution not prosecution and that he was not invited by any security agency yet, to be arrested.
When he was eventually invited, some media reported that he was arrested and detained, when in reality like others involved in the election saga, Hudu honoured the invitation by a security agency, explained his involvement and left a free man rather than detained.
Hero Hudu would eventually have to challenge the allegations and libel against him before the law. He would insist that the voice of scandal, which had pointed to him, should be declared in public to be false. The mischievous peddlers must pay a splendid ungrudging tribute to his truth and righteousness and his ation – declaring Binani as the winner of the governorship election, both the main and the supplementary, should not only be excused rather than accused but also be implemented.
Hudu is quoted to have recently said that he would surprise Nigerians in some days to come, adding that leadership should be built based on the solid foundation of justice, fairness and with the fear of God.
Joining the Hudu as democratic hero not a villain group, Hon Abdurrazak Sa’ad Namdas has recently said that “Nigerians would apologise to Adamawa REC after the court judgment because he has proofs”.
Namdas has been brilliant to point this out but he was mischievously, maliciously maligned by the erstwhile governor’s media aide even when the Governor himself has admittedly, made favourable comment, commending Namdas as a worthy representative
Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo, a.k.a Cliff, a.k.a Baba Ladde has also not seen where it is stated and/or read where it is written that Fintiri would succeed himself, even though there’s the swearing in. Abbo would also say that it is the court of law that would eventually determine Binani, the God’s and the people’s accepted choice as the Governor Elect.
There were two declarations separately by different INEC officials, that a political scientist may interpret the development as INEC politicization of governorship declaration in Adamawa state; a researcher could use it as a case study.
The re-elected Senator Abbo seems to be more comfortable with the first declaration, which in this context, can be referred to as the Hudu heroic declaration of a political heroine as ‘a’ and ‘the’ Governor.
Meanwhile, it ain’t over until it’s finally over with the determination of the court of law as the case is or the cases are before the jury.
Comrade Ahmed I. Sajoh would say “I come in peace. The Periscope Global would gladly conclude the piece with “to be continued…”
