Fulbe Development and Cultural Organisation, FUDECO an international NGO working in the area of development, humanitarian aid and a participatory action research network focusing on pastoralism. FUDECO has offered scholarship to underprivileged pupils in Taraba state.
In a press statement Friday, “FUDECO has on 25th January, 2024, through Gashaka LGA Chapter, under Taraba State, presented cash scholarships to 54 underprivileged pupils in Serti.
“The beneficiaries are children of IDPs, orphans and those from underprivileged families.
“Pupils in four other schools will also be benefitting from this first cohort.
“FUDECO has created nine schools in Adamawa and Taraba states with a total number of over 2,000 pastoralist children attending.
“FUDECO has also helped build existing schools in Nasarawa, Kaduna and Taraba states in addition to sponsoring students from Plateau, Bauchi, Borno and Nasarawa states.
“The latest scholarships are part of an Education Fund initiated by FUDECO for which six FUDECO leaders donated the initial amount.
“Knowledge is power and the best way to address poverty, insecurity and community cohesion issues.
“We sincerely thank our six donors who kicked off this Fund at very short notice. We are grateful to our leaders who are helping these and other kids elsewhere.
