Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured workers of the state government who received July salary without consequential adjustment that they would get full salary in the month of August along with arrears of the July shortfall.
The Governor who stated this when he hosted the state leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC in the Government House, Yola described the development as unfortunate and would be addressed so that workers would no longer experience it.
He added that upon seeing a bulletin by the organised labour in Adamawa, he immediately called the Accountant General to enquire why the shortfall occurred and affirmed that the problem would be rectified and workers would continue to enjoy their complete salary.
The Governor stressed that his administration remained labour friendly and has never joked with salary of civil servants even amid the coronavirus pandemic, declaring that the welfare of workers is sacrosanct under his watch.
He called on the leadership of the labour union in the state to reason with his administration and strengthen the symbiotic relationship with government while treating minor issues with decorum.
He appealed to workers in the state to exercise patience as government accords priority on their welfare, reiterating that his administration has been paying the minimum wage since last year and therefore will not relent in that regard.
