The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lieutenant General Attahiru Ibrahim with other senior army officers have, on official engagement, on board a military aircraft, crash-landed in Kaduna and crushed to great beyond.
It is believed that the CoAS and his entourage werr 8 in number, while the pilot, co-pilot and other crew members were 4, bringing the number of those on board to 12.
The aircraft was said to have crash-landed at the Kaduna airport runway this evening.
Attahiru Ibrahim (born August 10, 1966) was a Nigerian Army Lieutenant General who until his death, served as the 21st Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army since 26 January 2021
The Press statement, a while ago, issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Me Femi Adesina revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari was deeply saddened over the air crash that claimed the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers.
“The President condoles with families of the deceased, the military, and Nigerians in general, describing them as “heroes who paid the ultimate price for peace and security in the land.”
“While praying that God receives the souls of the patriots, the President says the crash “is one mortal blow to our underbelly, at a time our armed forces are poised to end the security challenges facing the country.”
“The President pledged that the departed would not die in vain”.
