The police and vigilantes’ joint rescue mission has yielded positive result as kidnappers in a dramatic cowardice to escape arrest, took to their heels accross high hill, some with unhealed wounds, so unhealthy, abandoning their victims; mother and minor they earlier abducted at a busy business Ngurore town, Yola South local government area, central senatorial district of Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria.
The press release Tuesday, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje revealed that “the widow (Hauwa Umaru and her child), kidnapped Ngurore have escaped from captivity and were rescued by the police unharmed.
The Command’s operatives and members of vigilantes gave hurt chase to the kidnappers who eventually abandoned the abducted to escape arrests.
“The survivors are now undergoing medical examinations as the command’s frequent operations aimed at preventing and dislodging Kidnappers from their current operational spaces and denying them space to regroup in other parts of the State will be sustained, ensuring the arrest of the kidnappers and their collaborators.
“The Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmed Barde assured the government and good people of Adamawa state that the Command shall continue to do all within its powers to guarantee a stable security order across the state.
“The CP calls on the civil populace to work with the police and other security agencies in the joint tasks of safeguarding our state, especially in the area of providing useful, relevant and timely information”.
