The Adamawa State Executive Council has proposed a budget estimate of over N163billion naira for year 2022, to be presented to the state assembly
Tagged budget of sustainable hope, N98.8 billion representing 60% goes to recurrent expenditure while N64.7 billion representing 40% is allocated to capital expenditure.
The state council during her 10th meeting for the year 2021 presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in the Council Chamber Government House Yola, deliberated on issues geared towards consolidating on gains made so far.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting Commissioner of agriculture, Umar Iya Daware said the council discussed extensively on the budget proposal estimate for 2022 fiscal year.
The budget envelope he stated, would be presented by Governor Fintiri before the state assembly Thursday.
Commissioner of finance and budget, Dr Ishaya John Dabari while breaking down the budget revealed that the present administration has prioritized youth empowerment hence the allocation of 60% of the budget to recurrent expenditure to meet up to its mandate.
Dr Ishaya Dabari further stated that 40% of the budget representing N64.7 billion naira would go to capital expenditure to open more doors for development across the state.
While assuring that serious measures have been put in place to ensure the realisation of the budget, the finance commissioner expressed optimism that the economic crunch occasioned by Covid 19 would be surmounted and give room for more developments.
