… Assures continued investment in the education sector…
Gombe State Government has approved the immediate opening of the Government Mega College Dukku for the commencement of academic activities.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya graciously approved the opening of the school to further fulfill his pronouncement on the establishment of five Mega schools in the state to decongest the existing ones.
The Governor who on different occasions expressed his administration’s commitments in the education industry in the state said the establishment of the Mega schools will no doubt address major issues ranging from infrastructure deficit, instructional materials and the manpower needs of both the teaching and non teaching staff.
This brings the number of established Mega schools to five across the state which were designed to accommodate 3000 students each with state of the art teaching aids to make it conducive for teaching and learning.
The five schools that includes Government Science Mega College Gombe, Government Science Mega College Kaltungo, Government Girls Mega College Doma, Government Mega College Dadinkowa and Government Mega College Dukku, have all been turned around as Mega Colleges, which were hitherto in dysfunctional and dilapidated as a result of deliberate neglect by previous administrations in the state.
Similarly, the current students of GSS M/Sidi have since been moved to Government Mega College Dukku to pave way for a total overhaul of the school as approved and directed by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa in an effort to give the school a befitting look.
