…Recovers GSM handsets, others

The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa state, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, having assured the citizenry of sustained efforts in fighting criminal activities, improving public safety and security across the state, aggressive war against kidnappers among other criminals by the police, assisted by the vigilante group has been unrelenting.
The press release Saturday, issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje revealed that the command’s operatives attached to Intelligence Department (SIB), have on the Friday, October 15, 2021, received report from one Ibrahim Jauro, a native of Shelleng local government area that he was threatened severally by an unknown subscriber, via GSM number: 08034021865, to either pay the sum of two million naira or be kidnapped.
The CP immidiately deployed the command’s machinery to prevent the intended crime, which eventually resulted in the arrests of the criminals whose names are given as, Farouk Muktar, 40 years old and Hamza Dahiru 39 years old,
both residents of Shelleng local government area, southern senatorial district of the state.
In a similar vein, the Command has on October 15, received a report from one Yuguda Adamu, a resident of Namtari village, Yola South local government area, central senatorial district of the state that some unknown subscribers have repeatedly called him via GSM numbers: 09032949636 and 07063607748, threatening him to either pay five million naira or face risk kidnapping.
Following the complaint, investigation commenced in earnest, which resulted in the arrests of two criminals whose names are given as Shuaibu Abdullahi 30 years old and Saidu Addullahi 31 years old,
both residents of Namtari village. They have confessed to committing the crime.
According to the press release, “All the suspects will be charged to court on completion of the investigation”.
