“Sai-Matan-Nan”, “Chanja Shi Otumba” slogans echo like the 2019 “O Jippa Tan” in Adamawa and “Otoge” in Kwara states…
Who would have thought that members of the ruling party in Adamawa state would think that it is more of a ruining party to run away from than a ruling party to join in running the government for good?
Some politicians lacking principles, are more to aligning with the ruling party, hence are often opting out of the opposition party. However, the narrative is changing with the 2023 electioneering atmosphere in Adamawa state.
The activities of Dr Umar Mustapha Madawaki, a.k.a Otumba of Ekiti, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party and that of the amazing amazon, Sen Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani, the governorship candidate of the APC in Adamawa state are increasingly building confidence in the electorates as much as the flaws inhere PDP, the ruling party are ruining the confidence of the electorates.
Even though governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, perhaps having thought that he has disinfected the atmosphere for a Fresh Air, earlier declared that there was no opposition party in Adamawa state and somewhere affirmed that APC is dead in Adamawa, there are of recent, no fewer than 23,000 disenchanted members of the Fintiri 2023 support group, otherwise referred to as Fintiri Ambassadors have publicly declared their intentions to migrate from the Fresh Air PDP environment to the Otumbanation to enjoy the undeniable fruits of their labour with the Labour Party.
According to the disenchanted Fintiri Ambassadors, “we’ve lost it out and lost confidence in the present administration under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. We the Fintiri Ambassadors are therefore hereby dumping the PDP, we will be migrating our loyalty to Otumba and the Labour Party…”
Similarly, no less than 1,250 women have publicly defected from the ruling PDP to the major opposition APC in Adamawa state, following the Binani’s women and youths empowerment schemes devoid of undue and uncontrolled unconscious bias and what the electorates considered as effective and efficient representation, which could be translated to good governance come 2023.
According to the decampees, “this is just but a tip of the iceberg. More women and youths will soon join the “Sai Matan Nan” journey to victory”.
There is no statement from or by any media aide of either the governor or the ruling party condemning the defection of the 1,250 women to the major opposition party resulting from the Binanitivity as a farce.
There was however a statement denying that Fintiri disenchanted Ambassadors are ever real than imaginary, as one Fintiri Apologist, Hamza Madagali would point out that being an insider who knew the membership strength of the PDP, the so-called group was but a bunch of liars who would only want to defraud gullible politicians like Otumba.
“Bunch of liars? Is Madagali making a mockery of himself by trying in vain to deny our essence, support and contributions to the success of governor Fintiri and the PDP? Anyway, time will tell who’ll be next to Dougirei Hill,” one of the group members would respond.
“Liars who would only want to defraud gullible politicians like Otumba! How gullible!
“Who is more gullible than one’s principal who would fraudulently be hoodwinked to believing that it was a discount rate the sale of N2,600 worth of fertiliser at the cost of N4,000; isn’t it a paradoxical discount suggestive of exploitation?
“To add to the gullibility of the chief executive in action is the so-called reopening of the Skills Acquisition Centres that former governor Murtala Hammanyero Nyako, the admiral with administrative wisdom established and that which was cluelessly closed down to rot by the same person as a governor after having unlawfully impeached Nyako and now is shamelessly claiming to have reopened the Centres that not his government but the North East Development Commission, NEDC, has in the fund management wisdom renovated?
“The aggrieved simply declared their intention to migrate from the Fintiri support to Otumbanation. How does that amount to the gullibility on the part of Otumba to be fraudulently deceived?” The Otumba 2023 group would challenge.
Yunusa Abubakar, the political analyst would articulate that two slogans are about to dominate the 2023 electioneering atmosphere in Adamawa state; “Sai-Matan-Nan” and “Chanja Shi Otumba” likely the same way the two slogans “O Jippa Tan” in Adamawa and “Otoge” in Kwara states have dominated the 2019 electioneering atmosphere.
While Binani continues with her empowerment projects and programmes; redefining the polity, Otumba would say that “we’ve not even started campaigning, our grassroots activities that centred on social responsibilities are bringing the electorates who will want us to rid the state out of misgovernance, closer to us”.
The questions that beg for answers are; is there any opposition in Adamawa state? Was APC dead? Who killed and who resurrected the party?
