…We aren’t visiting the First Lady, we aren’t being partial, we visited party stakeholders for consultations – Adamawa State APC Exco
…No one called me, no one texted me, no one invited me, no one informed me – Dr Bindir
…Any system that ignores people of value is doomed to failure – Hon Sajoh
…I’m not refunded my N10m, I’m not given my due recognition – Hon Moniedafe
…I have been ignored as well and I believe there are others in the same category – Haj Balla
Mustapha Umar Bash’ piece with the title, “An Aimless Visit To The First Lady,” has elicited responses among the APC stakeholders in Adamawa state.
The Adamawa state leadership of the APC and other personalities of high standing whose contributions to the growth and strength of the party, which predate the present executive members can only be measured as immeasurable have reacted to the piece.
The party leadership could consider the piece as having intent to pieces her integrity and confidence before her members, while other stakeholders would simply say they were by the pilgrimage of party leadership not consulted.
The consultative pilgrimage the leadership embarked on and to Abuja was not a jamboree and/or a consultation conspiracy but for the unity of the offended unity in diversity of the party, the leadership would point in their “FOR THE RECORDS” response.
According to the state party exco, “we can vividly recall that on assumption of office, the State Acting Chairman, Hon. Samaila Tadawus, desirous of having a united Party, constituted reconciliation committees at the Senatorial levels and the centre with our leader the SGF as the chairman of the main reconciliation committee.
“While I agree with the author that the SGF is frank and committed to the unity of our great Party, please note that the party leadership during the visit passionately requested the SGF to activate the reconciliation process based on his Leadership position and the appointment by the party, which he gladly accepted to do with all seriousness as a party man.
“The party Leadership further requested him to bring the two leading parties (Sen. Binani and Mal. Nuhu Ribadu) together on a table as part of the amicable resolution of the current situation in the party and help to ensure that the party gets the opportunity to field a governorship candidate in the 2023 election.
“He also agreed to do so and promised to encourage them in the interest of the Party to accept the verdict of the Court of Appeal.
“The party leadership appreciated the SGF for his Leadership role and continued support to the progress and unity of the Party and urged other Federal appointees to emulate him.
“The Party Leadership concluded it’s consultation visit in Abuja and returned to Yola on Sunday 23/10/2022.
“Therefore, the claim by the author that the leadership is still in Abuja to see any other person is not true and misleading.
“Individual members of the Party Leadership have every right to stay in Abuja for personal reasons and that should not be confused by the author.
“While the Party Leadership agrees with the author that Her Excellency the First Lady is a patriot and a great mother, he needs to be careful in the way and manner he tries to insinuate that Her Excellency will interfere with the judicial process.
“The author is now insulting the Party Leadership and turning around to claim that people are hired to insult others.
“Those who don’t want to be insulted will never insult others.
“JUST STICK TO THE TRUTH IT SHALL SET YOU FREE”.
A distinguished stakeholder of the party, former SSG Adamawa state who also contested Adamawa Central Senatorial District seat, Dr Umar Buba Bindra would think himself of being considered unimportant by the State Party Exco, established as reason for not being visited not being consulted.
According to Bindra “Nii dei, no one called me, no one texted me, no one invited, and no one informed me. It is now clear to me that despite my contributions and roles in the credible and impactful APC administration in the State between 2015-2019, and despite my involvement and even being a fully paid contestant for the seat of Senate, I am still not important and surely not a recognised senior stakeholder.
“I can only and fully thank the party for at least leaving me to still hold its membership like any other.
“Thank you. I come in peace, unity, progress and development
Joining Bindra, Hon Ahmad Sajoh would observe, affirming that “it’s unfortunate. Binding isn’t just a critical stakeholder but a beacon of hope for an all inclusive and productive APC.
“Any system that ignores people of value is doomed to failure.
Hon Sunny Sylvester Moniedafe would welcome Bindir to the club of the ignored. “Forgive them, Babban Mufti and welcome to the club. I am a State Chairman of the ACN, one of the legacy Parties that formed the APC. I was very vocal and a rallying point for current members of the Adamawa State APC shortly after Gov Boni Haruna fell out with the Waziri Adamawa.
“I aspired to be the National Chairman of the APC and put Adamawa State on top of the world for the 20 months I campaigned. I later contested for the position of Deputy National Chairman, North, paid N10 million, which is yet to be refunded. Ahmed Lawan can attest to this.
“Plus several other things, YET I am not given my due recognition!!!
“Worry not, Dr Umar Buba Bindir. No-one can deny the fact that you are a major player in Adamawa, nay Nigeria. It is well with you, my brother”.
Hajiya Fati Balla would also say that “my brother Dr Bindir, you are not the only one, I have been ignored as well and I believe there are others in the same category.
“Don’t be bothered, ignored or not recognized by the leadership in the state changes nothing. The records always speak irrespective of what others wish or do”.
The question that remains to be asked, as Rebecca Solomon would, is that “were there only but selected stakeholders based on elective position, political appointment and/or employment being honoured with the visit?”
